Ideas / Re: New way to "beat" Rimworld
February 02, 2017, 08:45:20 PM
not really to keen on having a win condition in games like rimworld that officially end the game, i think it would be cool if game ending objectives like this only unlock another part of the game so you can keep playing or if you want it could give you an optional end so you can feel "done" with your current game and move on to the next playthrough.

Ideas / solve end game resource issue through research?
February 01, 2017, 12:17:49 AM
My idea is basically giving the colonists a way to genetically alter plants together to weave some kind of material that is similar to steel to solve end game resource issues. These plants would be unlocked after possibly a large and lengthy string of research with possibly a special bench and growbed required for the plants and crafting of the special material.

Ideas / Re: Permanent Colony's?
January 23, 2017, 03:30:49 PM
Thats how i play currently i just thought it would be useful to add buildings and whatnot to the game that didn't feel so temporary, some stuff for more permanent arrangements without the game constantly suggesting you need to escape the planet.

Ideas / Permanent Colony's?
January 23, 2017, 03:04:32 PM
Hey all,
I was wondering what everyone's opinion was on expanding options and adding new mechanics for sustaining a permanent colony as opposed to escaping the planet and do you think these things will ever be added to the core game?

Ideas / Volcanic Biomes and thirst requirement idea
June 28, 2015, 10:50:12 AM
Tittle says it all volcanic biomes, i figured because ice shelves are the most difficult in terms of cold temperature there should be an extreme in terms of hot ( desert biomes are kind of easy to deal with ) these biomes could have volcanic eruption events that require colonists to stay indoors or risk being smashed by falling volcanic debris or engulfed in lava flows and toxic gass clouds and other volcanic hazards and rather than water the lakes could be just lava or some other form of liquid found in volcanic areas (or something cool since this is a rimworld planet) also your colonists could have to make use of gas masks and other protective gear to go out into the environment and collect materials to survive and obvious new temperature controlling devices.

Thirst requirement

Pretty self explanatory colonists would require a water source to stay hydrated as well as food and in environments where water is not available they could find it in different ways?

a few ideas

*entertainment/comfort stuff for the colonists (tvs, couch, pooltable, etc)
*different layers to a map so you can build upper floors and basements and so you can mine for materials and whatnot underground and maybe have enemys that can come up from underground layers (that one probably isnt simple lol)
*more defense options

Ideas / Fortification Options
December 19, 2014, 09:42:15 AM
hey everyone while i was playing i thought it would be cool if you could fortify walls with materials so it would not only change the appearance of the wall to make it look like it can take a hit but also actually make it tanky. Speaking of fortifications though i was thinking sand blocks would also be cool...i cant remember the name for them but you see them in american bases in Iraq they are like...giant box's with sand or dirt in them they can use for cover i feel as though these would be good for perimeter defenses to go with that solid line of sandbags. Another tech option for gun turrets that need to be manned would be fun to use as well so i dont need to string a line of power conduit across my base ,also an option to upgrade existing ones to do/take more damage would be useful as well :D.

well thats it for now!
thoughts?

Ideas / Re: Mech suits and misc
May 14, 2014, 02:16:16 PM
i dont see it being super difficult the mech suit would just be a different entity only difference would be it dosent move around when a colonist isnt inside of it and perhaps the colonist would need special training for it?

Ideas / Mech suits and misc
May 07, 2014, 10:51:18 PM
Just had a few ideas that i believe would make the game content more interesting not sure if it has been posted previously or not but...
MECH SUITS not gundam wing style suits but im thinking more of a walker esc vehicle type suit (that you can customize of coarse) or maybe an exoskeleton suit to let your colonists move supply containers or carry super heavy weapons. But these things would require a special building like a garage where when its not in use it would have to dock there for repairs and ammo reloading etc. I dunno what do you guys think?

Ideas / Re: Your Cheapest Ideas
February 11, 2014, 03:45:22 PM
hmm cheap ideas..
how about

1)different areas (example: you may choose to explore more of the planet and create new towns and trade routes between them) seems like more than a cheap idea in a way but ill just toss this out there anyways
2)vehicles (example: tanks, mechs, jeeps etc)
3)trenches for defensive purposes (you would need to build a platform along the edge for your colonists to shoot on (as if they have to step on it to look over the top)
4)renewable resources maybe something that can replace(or is better than) metal when you go into the late game like a carbon fiber or something sci fi ish and you can only find it by exploring different zones around the planet and will have to build a special and costly factory to manufacture it(works with idea #1)
5)forests so you can get access to different woods and stuff (iron bark?)
6)hostile towns and bases

thats all i have for the moment i hope these give you some good ideas :)
