General Discussion / Re: Is Tynan really a human?

The trip back to his planet of sub human platypus robots has taken longer than he estimated, now people are growing weary wondering where he is, or what...

A nice addition there tynan, it is interesting to watch my neurotic colonists work with this, really adds some penalty for not having mood boosters around the colony

PERFECT SOLUTION TO KILLBOXES! =)

Mmm, teleporter trap!  Sends them from near the front of the base to the edge of the map.  Wash, rinse, repeat, and they'll give up and leave or start killing each other.  ^_^

I think he meant it from the other way around

Hey tynan saw in the changelog that the guest faction will get mad if its not a "beneficial surgery".

So what about if they have a serious infection in their leg and theyre gonna die if we dont hack it off like in medieval times? did you incorporate that into the coding of deciding if the surgery is beneficial or not?

though id imagine it would require some tricky work since thats also a way to exploit taking limbs without repercussions

THere is a sticky thread about the changelog

I only play on highest cassandra difficulty, i feel like randy, as the name states, will either bulldoze me without hope or be shit boring, also i dont like to use killboxes so that throws randy right out the window, Cassandra is easy enough as it is although i have 100s of hours of gameplay and know my way around.

Ideas / Re: Rimworld Alpha 11 FRIENDSHIPS
May 19, 2015, 02:21:15 PM
Void gods seems more like a DF only thing, Rimworld lacks a certain, mystical spiritual mystery feel about it that DF has, like the huge mythical beasts that lurk the depths below. where as the extent rimworld goes to is praying to who knows what. I really think Void Gods could easily be replaced by electronic faulty systems and other Real world things that could go wrong for the same amount of fun and events

I can't tell you how happy I am that some of you love the nutrient dispenser and others bypass it entirely.

Why? Variety the spice of life i guess

Did i accidentally stumble upon a long lost prophecy foretold by tynan to our blight of killboxing

Ideas / Re: Bones

I honestly doubt its gonna be long before tynan implements all these general DF like elements its still lacking, were still missing different wood types so its probably gonna be a few alphas before anything is done with bones becoming an item in addition to each animal type

I probably wrote it in 5 seconds as a general idea, some time in late 2013, and then forgot about it :)

Damn, teleporting brawlers would have been so beast!

Your starting colonists in RimWorld are at a technological level in the middle of this span. But you may end up interacting with people at much lower and higher levels, as well as acquiring and using their tools and weapons. In RimWorld, a single fight can involve a bow and arrow, a revolver, a charged-shot pulse rifle, and a near-magical teleportation device.

What is this? and howcome ive never seen it in my 100s of hours of gameplay, its not the trade beacon as things fly down in pods, (Im assuming a tractor beam of sorts that we cant see grabs all our crap when we sell) anyone have a clue to what tynan was mentioning?

i jut set 8 hours as sleep and the rest as joy. best way i have found to keep the constant Berserk at bay.

Hence either work to death or do nothing is your two options
