I propose that, rather than a system of recruiting someone into your ranks of trustworthy colonists, if the prisoner's chance is really low, then once you 'recruit' them they will attempt to walk off or go on rampages repeatedly, until you increase there trust and faith in the colony enough that they feel it's there best choice to join the colony. (And then there would be some you just can't recruit without them walking off/ attacking you)
This would create an interesting dynamic of "Do i trust this psychopathic cannibalistic tribesman as a colonist?"

I've never seen the "twisting ear" description. That's awesome. Brilliantly transferred into the depiction, really like it.
Thankyou!

The Dropbox you have for the newest version of the mod doesn't seem to work.

The Download button is grayed out and we're unable to actually download anything without it.

Anyone else seeing that or is it just me?

I believe i got around it by mashing the button.
Try clicking it 2 or 3 times.
Worked when i just tried.

Love this so damn much! thank you so much for all your work and effort! sorry to ask though, is there a way to add more than 10 colonists to start with? i know it may be asking for a bit much, but i'd really like to start the game with a bunch of people i know. i'd probably even start recording the whole play through. haha!

10 people is a bit much for the balance of the game.   ;D
Though it would make the first few days quite interesting,
i'll watch a play through of that for sure!

Downloading now, looks like it'll be a lot of fun!  ;D
i'll post again when i've started playing with it.

Ideas / Re: Your Cheapest Ideas

Hunters haul animal corpses, that they didn't kill.
(hauling animal corpses is = priority for hunters as hunting itself)
Would save me a lot of forcing them to go out into the rain and pick up animals that died in the crossfire of them hunting.
Also, once a hunter shot another hunter's leg clean off.
I've found work around for it but perhaps make an option to make people stay out of other hunter's range when they are hunting.

Alright, I'm back!
I spent a bit longer on this one, because the headaches and eye strain that have been plaguing me have let up so far today.  :D

I imagine them as a soldier on a colony that has been on a rimworld for a long time, and has become quite advanced.
A sniper perhaps? i didn't pay much attention to the gun, just kind of drew it.

@Avsnoopy: Love it!  ;D  And is your avatar an Irken Invader?
I drew my profile picture with this character in mind http://madnesscombat.wikia.com/wiki/Jesus
He's from the animation series "Madness Combat" Video he stars in: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3noaZd926WA

--Back on topic,
I've been really, really busy lately, I'll pump some new art sometime this week.  ;D

Avs this is meant in the best possible way... i thought the squirrels were pieces of poop....

I tried to draw the squirrels in rimworld's art style.

Oh! ;D for a moment I thought there was something really strange voodoo going on in the first/second one until I read the 'squirrel' at the bottom
I love the expression on his face =P and I'll never forgive you for splashing blue on red

Oh and I know the struggle of drawing something out of the blue!
might wannoo give yourself some "objectives" and subject and rules on what the drawing has to contain and so your brain starts to think for you like

it works sometimes when you have nothing but really really wannoo squeeze something out =P also sometimes makes you more creative, too ;D cause you'll have a box to think outside of then

</lifeLessonsWShinzy>

That's good advice. I'm fairly new to making art in general, so my work can be a little questionable from time to time, Plus the art was rushd, and i still had a bit of a headache.
If i make more i'll continue to post here.

Due to a debilitating headache i spent most of the day today in bed doing absolutely nothing.
But i did manage a few quick drawings.
My biggest issue with drawing is figuring out what i want to draw.
I love to contribute to the community. <3

Attack of the squirrels!
Also, If you want some art feel free to pm me a request.

I'll draw something.
I'll post it here when it's done.

When i send out some colonists to go mine, they go out accost the map, mine some ore and then walk all the way back empty handed. I end up manually forcing them to carry the ore on there way back. Had this problem for a while now. The other things I do not quite care for are: Solar flares, Having your turret based deference turn off and then being completely wiped out isn't much fun to me, for a while i actually just stopped using turrets because of it. And the ship part crashing early game. For the most part i agree with the rest of the thread.

Ideas / Re: Colony Interactions

I like all the mentioned ideas. The current interaction system seems like a placeholder and I hope it will change. Such entity as "faction" right now consists of only a few bits of info - their type, name, location and their loyality to the player and other factions. I hope at some point the entity will also include the amount of people and resources a faction has (thus you won't have an infinite amount of visitors/attackers), and based on this information there could be generated a base of the faction.
There are consequences to the implementation of such mechanics though. First of all, you would be unlikely to get 100+ attackers siege/assault, unless the attacking faction is really strong. And if you happen to have such attack, if you win then the attacking faction will most likely be almost defeated, just gather you people and go assault the emptyed attackers base (a base that used to supply 100+ colonists, could you imagine the scale of the structure?). Thus balance would substantially change.
Second. The game would cease to be 100% survival based game and would turn into some sort of a faction-based strategy. I like it nonetheless, but there might be people thinking  otherwise. Particularly, if Tynan thinks the game must be 100% survival, we will never see aforecited features :(
Right now the playthrough is essentially like this: survive hunger, survive extreme temperatures, establish a well-defended and self-sustaining settlement, keep surviving endless attacks until you die/escape everyone in a spaceship.
Imagine if you could expand it to such things as defeat/take control of/make allies with a different colony, found a new settlement nearby, capture 10 other towns/outposts and ultimately establish a state, why not :) *dreams*

I just imagine the other factions being gigantic(the ones you get gigantic constant raids from  ;)) They would be split into perhaps a main city and then maybe a town or two. And a bunch of camps. The camps would be similarly sized to your colony, the towns would be giant(larger than the map), but you could try to shoot the place up. And the city would be death to the colonists you send there.

I don't think being able to capture places would be a good feature, but taking out camps and looting them would work. I don't think this will be put in the game however, because it shifts the games theme from surviving on a rimworld to attacking towns and trying to concur everybody. Perhaps after rimworld has been released there could be a dlc called "On the attack" Or something of that sort. I would enjoy fighting threw city streets with my gang of raiders with rimworld's combat mechanics(Like the combat demo from the pack of failed rimworld ideas)

<This is suggestion comes up quite frequently, if you do a bit of digging, you can find multiple threads discussing it.>
