Ideas / Saving and World Map

This is just a suggestion to improve the way saves are managed and accessed. I haven't read anything specifically if there are any plans on it, so I'll just throw it out.

For me it would be nice if save games could be accessed through the world map of said seed, with a panel to one of the sides where you could see the saves that are on that map. The name, size, biome and colony time could be seen, and clicking on it, highlighting where on the map it is located.

For me at least this would make it easier to manage multiple colonies, as I quickly loose interest in older colonies, because I forget details about them when only provided with the colony name.

Please share your thought about this, if it is a good or a bad idea.

Yeah, I like this idea of refueling it. It isn't a VERY used item, but it is the small things that matter. Maybe post this in Tynan's "Your Cheapest Ideas" thread.

I've used camp fires quite a bit. Mostly when solarflares happen, and I am in a cold biome, and I don't want my devilstrand plants to die from the cold. And secondly, using it early in the game, to avoid using those precious metals, that I need for other things.
Back to topic, I too think there should be more researching in the game, but how much and in what way, I am not sure. As mentioned, some of the technologies should have researches. Maybe not long ones, but just some that makes you evaluate what you need to put resources into. Also adding a minor cost to it, I don't mind either.

They can sometimes be hidden in areas concealed in mountains. But I am not sure if it is actually possible for a map to spawn none.

Might be interesting to see as a mod, but I am not sure if it would fit well with how the game is now. It would also take a lot of added and changed features.

Pressurized door systems. No animals. Different or no plants. A system where obtaining oxygen would make sense. Be it an oven that process soil, or seed's used to make indoor plants.

A lot of other systems would probably need to change too, as pretty much anything would be able to kill you under the right (wrong) circumstances.

But still interesting :p

I'd like to see it as, you are the omniscient subconscious state of all the colonists. Like, when you give them an order, they see it as their subconscious thought, telling them to do a specific thing :p

Maybe there is a bug or an issue that makes nutrient re-synthesizers not work, if the hoppers themselves are in the prison room?

Even as interesting as it may sound, I just don't think there is enough uses in the game for a system like this. Like it would only apply to your own colonists when attacking (That or only if they decided that enemies can enter the map unnoticed, somehow out of your sight?).
And seen as how every pawn faces south when they are standing still, that would again limit how it would be used.

Maybe if a lot of work were put into it, it could probably work, but honestly I don't think it is something worth putting the time and effort into in the long run. I could be wrong :)

Proximity mines could quite easily work I think though, as it would only need a modified version of the artillery mine.

As it stands the current 2D priority system works really elegantly for my needs.

Left click goes forward, right click goes backwards. Simple as that.

I am soon trying to get some power armor for my colony, and they often cost like 5000 each. So if my dream of an power-armor army with my 31 colonists, is ever gonna come to life, I need some extra income ;)
