I only wish I had the skill of some of the modders. But I am just not good with computers.

Now I have been watching the remake of the TV show Battlestar Galactica from 2004. And playing Rimworld. And so I put two and two together and thought why not a mod.

Now I am old and was a fan of the 1978 TV show Battlestar Galactica so i would like to see parts of it put in a mod as well.

So what could be put in a mod like this. Well first of some new factions. Like Cylons old and new. As they had in the show the old Cylons were a faction of there own. and the new cylons would have the toasters as well as the skin jobs. As well as a Colonial factions with weapons and gear like that of the show.

The tech in Battalstar Galactica is already close to what in Rimworld already. So a lot of the changes will come in the factions.

So anyone up for this? Or dose anyone have any thoughts of stuff to add to a mod as well? Or is this just to much work for a old show like this?

Maybe you can be the lost 13 colony....... 8)

I actually noticed something similar with potatoes lying around my hydroponics, where colonists would eat them raw while about 20 cells over there was a fridge full of fine meals. It seems the values on that need some tweaking still.
I saw a post few weeks back they are a were of the trouble with raw food. They said it be fixed in alpha 10. Till then it has to be handled by playing smart.

Well I have had pawns lose it and started fights in passed games. not sure if they still do that have not had one in some time.

Oh BTW if you have not tried any mods yet it make the game even funner.

It funny I have been using PayPal for over 12 years now and I have hand no trouble with them and credit cards. I will say that I have been using steam for close to 10 years and have had not trouble with them ether. Hell I have had more trouble with credit card fraud from big  retail outlets.

But I can not blame you for being careful I might just be lucky I don't use my credit cards much online. Hell even on steam now I mostly just go pay cash for the gift cards and use them. And I will also say that getting Rimworld on steam will get it in to a larger market and a easy way to pay.

I can not believe that so many of you in game cut up humans for meat and skin to sell. this just feels so wrong......... Oh I make money in game by cutting up humans and selling there meat and skins to. LoL

One word of warring about this. Keep the human meat fare from you pawns and your meals. For some reason in alpha 9 when they are hungry they will go eat the raw human meat before cooked meals if the human meat is closer by only a little bit.

Ok seeing how it has factions to it.  I am sure it will need a new started. So I will put this in on my next new started. It looks like fun. Nice one.  ;D

Yep you are right. But the Marine drop pod mod was alpha 8 and I talked to the modder and she has no plans to make it alpha 9. In other words I think she drop it as one of her many mods do to a lack of time to work on it do to real life.

The Project Armory is still not up to date for Alpha 9 yet ether. but they say it will be soon(alpha 9 gave them a lot of work to do).

The imperial guard mod just a week back got a miner update to 9. But he points out that it not 100% yet in his last post. I am using it anyway and the orc attacks can get nasty early on. I will put a link here give it a try but be ready to have some big orc raids before you can be fully ready.  https://ludeon.com/forums/index.php?topic=8228.0

Oh the only reason I have had much luck holding off a lot of the orc attacks is I am running 3 other turret mods. It give me a level of over kill I need to deal with hard to kill numbers of orc's. The mod it self also come with a number of WH 40K style turrets as well.

Ah now we all know why Project Armory is taking so long to go to alpha 9.  ;D LoL Just kidding. I will have to check this out. After all Project Armory was a good mod.

But I think you are more talking about fantasy orc's. And this would be a lot of fun to. Maybe a World of Warcraft style mod or even a Dungeons & Dragons mod.

There is a very small chance of an enemy or traveler being infected when they spawn on the map. The chance of it happening depends on the difficulty setting.
Ah ok if it part of the mod that's good to know. And that just make me like the mod even more because it keep me on my toes never knowing who might turn. Thank you  ;D

Had a odd thing happen last night. I started a new colony last night. I am running about 40 mods this being one. I am 11 day in to the new colony and the virus said active on the right side of my screen. It not air born yet and I have had no zombie raids as of yet. But some of the factions that are allies to me hate each other. they have had some fights near and around my colony. One of them turned in to a zombie and attacked. I got him in time. Now how did he become a zombie with out it being air born or any zombies at all showing up on my new map.

Could they have come to the map with the zombie virus? Or was it because my last game it was air born. So the game still thinks it is even if it was a new game?

Hmm visitor's get killed by other factions or they get right in the middle of my colony fight off some one else attack and they get dead. all the time they blame me. Well now a new way to piss them off. *download*  :)

Hey I might as well do the pissing off and get some thing for it right. Nice one going to try it out.

I am not great with computers. But I had a thought for a new power source. With brewing and corn in the game it can only be a short time before someone mix the two and make moonshine. Now if someone want's to mod that and maybe some ethanol or moonshine fueled generators. And we could have a back up power supple.

Any thoughts on this or dose anyone know is this a later plan for the game anyway.

I agree with you but two things to remember. First it is a game and in alpha. So maybe down the road you will mine iron ore and work from there. Next it a different planet. So yes all we know here on earth said it works the way we know it dose here. But who knows out there on another world maybe they will have a beer river and a chocolate mine.  :)
