Just curious to see the stats.

Personally, I've been here since Alpha 8. Saw an LP of it on youtube and it reminded me of Dwarf Fortress. Got my hands on it afterwards and started my first colony.

My very first colony's story was the most memorable for me.
A few weeks in and a few raids later, I was holding up pretty well in the temperate forest. My group of 3 turned into a group of 4. Having plenty of fun and then a 1 man raid happened. It was a guy with a molotov. "You silly goose." I thought and sent out my two shooters. But before my guys can reach him, he snucked into a cryptosleep room and set fire to a pod. It blew up on his face and 9 space soldiers came out and instantly butchered him. My guys were on the entrance to witness it all.

"Oh sh*t" I thought and retreated. But the soldiers we're catching up and shooting at my guys. Without much cover, my men stood behind trees and tried to fight back... it didn't end well. They only managed to kill one soldier before getting cut down by the rest.

Meanwhile on my base, I was panicking. We had no guns and only have a knife and a single turret to protect ourselves. I called for help from two outlander towns and they sent us a total of 8 gunmen. Upon their arrival, the soldiers began their assault. Both sides took losses but the soldiers were winning.

I decided to uninstall a wall on the side of my base and snucked up on two soldiers behind a wall who were distracted with the fighting. My electrician stabbed one to death and proceeded to gun down the other who was giving my farmer a bad time. Now armed with an LMG and Incendiary Launcher. My guys proceeded to cut down the group of soldiers from behind until only 1 remained. Clad in power armor and a charge rifle, the surviving soldier finished off the last of my allies and proceeded to fire on my men. My electrician had his kidney shot out and was incapacitated. But the farmer went behind a nearby wall and shot him with a fire bolt. He then just stood there and burned to death.

With half of my base on fire and corpses everywhere, my remaining colonist broke before he could rescue his friend.

and I was hooked ever since then.
So, how did your first game turn out?

Seems fitting imo and gives a nasty downside to a pretty powerful trait.
Then again, people are already salty about social fights so I don't think this will be well recieved.

Anyways, I'm not gonna post the full result of that yet. (Because I haven't done the rest of them yet.) But I do already have the list of the winners. hey it's me again

Sometime around December, I held a little event where I drew the colonists of people interested enough to post on the thread. The result was this.
Now summer vacation is coming up for me soon and I thought I'd do another round of that since alot of people liked it and I've got nothing better to do with my life except be lazy and neglect doing mod textures.

And now here we are once more.

Rules:
-   If you wish to participate, simply use the template below.
-   Maximum of 3 pawns. (To give me options in case everyone presents Sniper McGee as their fav pawn.)
-   Reserve comments after the template (Just to keep things neat and clean for me)
-   Modded pawns are allowed. As long as they're humanoid, eg. Human looking robots, animal-hybrids, aliens.
-   Your colony must be at least 2 seasons old (Because drawing a neon blue clothed dude is really boring for me.)
-   I'll only accept entries until April 8, as I'll start after that.

Ideas / Option for more than 1 faction of that type

I don't know if there already is one but I ain't seeing it. Would be nice to be able to raid one faction without pissing off everyone on the planet.

Also if there's a mod available for this, I'll gladly use it.

Edit: Or maybe It's due to me having these faction mods, thus taking up slots... I'll go test it.
Edit 2: Ah, it is due to my mods. But still it would be nice to have something like:
"No. of Outlander Faction 1 - 2 - 3" slider or something.

I was trying to make a cannibal run then I found out I couldn't start with my custom scenario. Figured out why:
I had two forced cannibal traits. One was for my starters and one only for NPCs. I think it should only conflict if one of the two are set to "All characters".

Dunno if you know me around here but I like drawing stuff. I have about 3 weeks' worth of free time coming up soon and A16's just around the corner still buggy. So I thought I'd make this little contest while we all wait for it.

All right so what's the contest?
You post info about 3 of your colonists, I draw them. Vanilla or modded, both are welcome.
I'll choose 3 "winners" where I'll draw all 3 of their colonists. (But depending on how much time I'll still have left, I might increase it to 5) Everyone else will only have 1 of their colonists drawn. But heck everyone still wins because DRAWINGS!
I'll run names through a random selection to keep things fair.

You can set a spot similar to parties and marriages but for the event to trigger, you would need to first have a camera. The event would only happen once per year in the spring (Or maybe every couple of seasons as colonists tend to come and go).
Anyways, the event would be similar to marriages:

1. The every colonist along with their bonded pets not set to work would gather to the spot while one person fetches the camera from the stockpile. They'd socialize a bit while the camera is being set up.
2. When it's ready, the colonists will tightly gather and face the camera.
3. The camera flashes and the picture's taken. Everyone receives a great mood buff for a week. Some colonists may huddle around the camera as if checking the photograph but would then leave immediately after.
4. The camera drops a photograph whose description can be viewed via "art".

In the description it would name every colonists and pets who participated in the event and then the date it was taken. Or if possible, have it list down the names in which you could click on and it would show something like this:

(Have the pawn picture be in sepia if possible)
It would show the clothes, stats, traits, age, and augmentation (if they have any) which the pawn had on that day.

I think it would be a neat "little" addition to the game. You could remember pawns that died or see how your bionic cyborg murdermachine used to be some chump with a peg leg and 3 shooting skill a year ago.

So... thoughts?

Note that the ones with the "S" in the name are about the same size as the textures found in Vanilla assets. Just in case adjusting the size becomes an issue or something.

It's been discussed before and many (I think) people do find it weird for colonists to be so against sharing rooms. So I propose a teeny weeny little change:

1. Remove the -5 penalty.
2. Lower the overall mood threshold by 5.
3. Pawns get +5 mood when they have their own private room.

Basically just remove the glaring red number that's pressuring people to build private rooms quickly. Solving the complaints of some while nothing changes gameplay wise. People are free to build barrack styled quarters but it's still better if pawns have their own room.

Besides, numerous disturbed sleep debuffs would be enough of a drawback for tightly shared rooms.

Heyo, just curious about some stats.

Personally, I get bored after around 2-4 years because at that point, there's very little to do between events. Everything is pretty much built, my population is pretty big that I stop getting attached to pawns, the colony is self sufficient, and raids just become weekly meat grinders with sappers providing a fun little shootout event inside my bases. I kind of never visit the save file again and just start up a new one. It never makes it to the point where it ends in a blaze of glory and I'm not patient enough to see it all the way through to see it happen.

But the first year or so of building and defending your base is fun as heck.

But that's just me and I've seen screenshots of colonies that's older than a decade. Wondering if I'm alone with this "New game, last a certain amount of year, get bored, start over" routine.
