It's a metal box falling from space.
It can pierce through a constructed roof and thin rock roofs. It can't however punch through overhead mountains cause we don't know how thick those are.

It's intended gameplay. Wait, I thought they leave holes as well when it happens. It doesn't? Weird.

Edit: Spellchecks

Wheelchairs, wheelbarrows, bicycles, stretchers, patient gurneys.... By themselves wheelchairs aren't important enough to justify introducing an entire mounting system, but if the system was already in place then they would be reasonable to add. Alternatively, without a mounting system it could be turned into an operation called "Fitting for wheelchair" and its inverse could be "Retraining walking" or something like that...
I can already see pirate raids utilizing hollowed out mechanoid APCs and the trojan horses rolling across the plains towards my base lol.

Slightly Off topic:
Raids using transports would be a very cool.
- 2 Raiders on an ATV doing drive-by shooting and generally stealing valuable things left on the open.
- An armored humvee or bus that's meant to ram through thin and weak walls and pour out raiders inside your base.
- A slow rusty tank that's used for shooting holes and blowing up turrets. Mostly bulletproof with an exception of a very small weak spot behind it. The tank and the weak spot would have separate targeting. TACTICAL MANEUVERING GALORE.

what about splinting up Negotiate in to diplomat and warden so skilled pwans can work with gusts and prisoners and unskilled can be prisoners.
I didn't want to add a new kind of job. But if that's generally what people prefer, I can do it.

Yes, please.
Right now, I got a high social colonist that's an abrasive. Does wardening duty very well but insults guests left and right during visits.

Hauling is determined by movement speed! And movement speed is influenced by mood, health, afflictions, bad back, frail, peg leg. And bionic legs.

Wait, I never knew this. How greatly does mood affect movement?

General Discussion / Re: Sir Percival strikes back!

Sir Percival.
An innocent snowman, with a loving community and a carrot nose. Murdered in cold blood and left buried in the snow...

BUT NOW HE'S BACK AND COOLER THAN EVER.

ARMED WITH A FROSTY VENGEANCE.

HE MAY BE ICE-COLD, BUT MAKE NO MISTAKE. HE'S NOT AFRAID TO SHARE THE WARMTH.
THE WARMTH OF HOT LEAD BULLETS.

HE IS, SIR PERCIVAL.
HE IS, THE PRECIPITATOR

That was great.

You lost because your vault didn't have the tunnel snakes as the badass defenders. You had the wrong Butch.

TUNNEL SNAKES RULE.

Heartwarming

I'm imagining them as a sibling conversing.
Big bro and little sis.

Tail: *With her back resting against his brother, Tail hugs her rifle and expresses her awe* "The sunset... it looks beautiful."

Dodson: "Everything here does, Tail. The clouds, the stars, the flowers, the snow... It's beautiful world."

Tail: *Her smile weakens* "A beautiful world, huh..."

Tail: *Head and eyes down and shoulders drooped, her smiling expression is replaced by sadness* "...How can a world so full of wonders contain so much horror and cruelty?"

...

Dodson: *Dodson continues to stare at the setting sun* "I don't know, Tail. I don't know. It simply exists wherever we go."

Dodson: "That's why we leave. That's why we run. We leave it all behind before we witness the worst that it can offer."

Dodson: "... Just like home."

...

Tail: "..."

Tail: "I... I-I think... I think I don't want to leave."

Tail: *She looks again at the orange horizon* "I don't want to leave this view behind."

...

I'd like to see a pawn resting on a deadfall trap or an IED.

"Yo,  whatsup."

"Nothing much, just chilling here." *Pluffs the trap like a pillow*

Quote from: pigman999999999 on July 21, 2015, 10:08:01 AMBut if your in my situation it would be helpful. When the game has something against you and you only have 4 colonists and one of them is immobile and because he doesn't like bionics. Prosthetic legs with piss-poor mobility sucks. I haven't even played on that new desktop I have. Wheelchairs would be helpful.
I freakin' tried.

Try downloading a mod. I recommend Ykara's Expanded Prosthetics and Organ Engineering

I don't really remember but I think this mod allows you to build or buy advanced prosthetics that basically function as normal limbs.

Or was that just from the Superior Crafting mod? Someone clarify this for me please.
Anyways, there's a bunch of solutions that you can find in the mod forums. Just do a simple search.

I didn't know what a focal point was.

P.S. I just really really really really wanted to draw a fly in a spacesuit.

Edit: Made some slight improvements.

I always play on ludicrous and it takes quite a while to cross the map, about 13 seconds, 7 secs with shift, which is annoying because i have to drop the mouse and scroll with arrow keys. Sure, i can zoom out, but that also takes time and effort, and most of the time i play zoomed in (please, don't say that i should play more zoomed out, i could say the same that people should play zoomed in). Also, its not always about having to scroll to places, but being aware of things just at a glance.

Fair points and understandable. I never really played at those giant maps so I didn't realize just how big they were. And I don't think that much people do as well. For cases like those, being able to zip around instantly would be very big help. But, I don't think there's too much action on many parts of a map to warrant constant scrolling everywhere. Okay I realized how it would be quite troublesome to click on a message zoomed in the middle of nowhere then lose track of where your base would be.

Opinion changed, seems useful for you folks and simple scrolling sucks on those maps.
+1 Agree

How complex the information shown on it however, is debatable.

Oh man, that is awesome.

I didn't recognize the muffalo at first. What I first saw quite scary.

General Discussion / Re: Solar flare side-effect

Actually, I kinda prefer it if the solar flares simply screw up all the electrical generating devices (geothermals, solar, wind). So we're forced to rely on batteries for the duration of the solar flare. That way there is a much strong incentive to charge and keep batteries so that we can allocate devices which need it (like our fridges, hydroponics, and turrets) urgently.

Interesting.
But, if so, then the solar flare would need to last longer than a day since batteries can store a helluva' lot of power and most people have rows of full of it. With the way I use power right now, it would barely affect me.

Maybe it depends on the resolution you play at, but with my resolution on 250 x 250 maps I cannot zoom out all the way to see the entire map, and it takes about 2 seconds with the arrow keys to scroll from one side to the other. Sometimes it feels like I am playing chess but can only see 85% of the board at a time.

Holding shift makes the map scroll incredibly faster.
