If you lose an arm to a .50, youre not going to be able to use it. Its going to be little more than fish bait.
Same with organs, if you take a .303 or something to the liver, itll bleed too much to be useful. And limbs with dozens of rounds in them arent too handy.
I see where youre coming from, though.

have a shot. And a lot of water. The shot will help with alcohol withdrawal, the water will help with dehydration.
Although, if you're still hungover by now, take it up with your doctor.

Yeah, but my Medic refuses to do anything violent, which includes melee, and my Chef is more likely to miss than to hit the target. My marksman had a shooting skill of 18, but a melee skill of 3. The raider was a brawler. Melee wasn't an option.

Dunno if you noticed, but the ships are just beams with a bunch of cryopods taped on. It would involve exclusively watching your colonists sit in their cryopods.

My other 2 colonists (Designated "Medic" and "Chef", after their duties) are useless in a fight. My medic cannot do anything violent, and my chef has a melee/shooting skill of 0.

If you do go with windows, you should stick to 7, IMO. Microsoft's been trying to fix what isn't broken, and it made everything ugly. W7 works fine, great compatibility, Ive been running it for 3, or 4 years and haven't found a single program. my laptop has W8, the compatibility's a little bit dodgier. Cant speak for 10, though.

I am not currently studying, but I would love to study Law. That way I get to lock up those ISIS idiots!
Im studying for my glider's license, followed by my power license. I'll get my high school diploma, and enlist in the Air Force. That way I get to bomb those ISIS idiots ;)

I wonder if it works with joysticks. It might. I doubt it'd work with H.O.T.A.S. though.

Spent a half-hour rebuilding a V8 OHV engine on Car Mechanic Simulator:

Guess it's not that pretty after such a short period of time. Interesting how all the lines converge on one point, though.

What about an unstable temperature event? Not sure how you could logically work it in, but basically:
Days are hot as a desert summer(40C or so)
Nights are cold as an ice sheet winter (-60-70C or so)
could be an interesting challenge.

Im more into the cold, hard reality bit. I've always loved books like Ashes, or The Kill Order. They don't beat around the bush, they straight-up tell you the uncensored reality of whats going on.

Mods / [Mod Request] Religion
October 11, 2015, 08:31:28 PM
I saw a thread  that requested atheism, basically, removing the praying activity.
So, I got thinking. What if the praying activity did more than provide a tenth of the joy a bottle of beer does? What if you could pray to the storyteller? You could construct altars, offer sacrifices, in exchange for maybe better trading prices, or less frequent disasters. If you neglect the almighty storyteller, perhaps bad things start to happen. The ice sheets go through more cold snaps, the deserts go through more heat waves. Trade prices climb, hostile tribes get more aggressive.
It's an interesting concept, I think.

Mods / Re: [Idea] Colony-wide Ammo

Yeah, the idea with that is to minimalize micromanaging ammo supplies on every colonist, which would get to be quite excessive with 15+ colonists each with different weapons.

If you want pure realism, you can join the Army. They're always accepting new players.
According to the military, you need a diploma to kill people. If you don't have a diploma, they aren't gunna even look at you.
