I'm from Alberta, Canada. Our province looked too much like that for 4 or 5 months. Whole damn place was on fire, smoke was thick enough some days that you had a visibility of about 60 feet.

A prequel, then, maybe? Or an alternate timeline?
Any way you go about making another story, you're a pretty good writer, you could probably make it work.

I've a broadish suggestion: Tactical treatment of battle wounds
Basically, treatment of wounds sustained in battle gets more realistic. In reality, if your heart gets damaged, you have 10 seconds to a minute before you bleed to death. In game, though, it can take days. I saw somebody mention that earlier. I suggest you greatly increase the rate at which wounds to organs bleed. But add tactical first aid.
Example:
John and Joe are in a gunfight with some raiders, Joe gets shot in the heart and begins to lose blood very rapidly. John can apply tactical first aid (Short treatment time, only need a low medicine skill to do it), to slow the bleeding enough so that Joe won't bleed out before he has a chance to be rescued.
Maybe have dedicated CLS, who carrys around QuikClot and Saline, or an FAK or something.

Stories / The 2 day gunfight
October 11, 2015, 04:24:27 PM
So, I played on a forested map (My first time, I always play on an ice sheet.), and I got raided by some guy with a survival rifle. So, I sent my Marksman out, who also had a survival rifle. The raider had a jacket, a shirt, and pants, my Marksman had a deerskin shirt, a deerskin duster, deerskin pants, and a deerskin cowboy hat. He was pretty badass. I ordered him to run up and take cover behind some chunks of rock, the raider took cover behind a bunch of trees. For 2 days they shot at one another, destroying trees and slaughtering any wildlife that got between them. 2 hares, a deer, and a squirrel got shot to death, and 2 or 3 trees were shot down over the course of the gunfight. Eventually, both the raider and my Marksman started to starve, but my Marksman was an optimist. The raider broke, and wandered out of cover. My marksman put one round right through his liver and destroyed it.

don't breed boomrats. I learned that one. I built a wooden house, and had an attached wooden barn. I bred boomrats. That's past-tense, for a good reason.

Also, your sidewalk's filthy.

I had a dog take a bullet for my sniper, once. Guy got too close, dog ran out in the middle of the battle, raider was sighting up my sniper, changed targets to my dog. He shot my dog in the torso, my sniper put the raider down, and the dog survived initially. He died of an infection from that gunshot a few days later.

Quote from: Facepunch on October 05, 2015, 07:43:50 PMNow I just have 3 or 4 snipers sit in a nest, and blast them from a distance.
I use combat realism, too.

3 - 4 snipers with 20 in shooting are ... WORTH it.

I lost my fully augmented sniper (both eyes, arms, legs bionic) to a disease, because I always forgot to give him a new 2nd kidney. And without it, it took too long to get immunity, even with proper medication. I felt ... sad ... after that.

Always have spare Organs!
Always have at least 1 prisoner, in case you need an organ or something. They're good for that.

To get a Mac is to get an alienware:
You're wasting a whole boatload of money. If you're ultra rich, and you live in a mansion of gold, and drive a golden Lamborghini, go ahead and pickup both a Mac and an Alienware computer. But, if you're not so rich, get yourself a Windows. Windows 7, I'd recommend. Windows 8 is a pile of ass, and I haven't had time to look into Windows 10, but I don't trust it. If you build your own machine, or even go into a trustworthy shop (Local computer shop I got my comp from was called Memory Express, they've got places here and there in Canada. Not sure about in the states, tho.) and ask them for help in choosing out your parts, they'll advise you there. And most of them will also build it, for an hourly charge (Takes 2 hours, tops.)
A few price comparisons:
Macbook Pro: $1999
Alienware: $1400 (I looked into some of their rigs, they got one listed at $1399, it will run any game you put it through for the next year or so at max settings, solid 60fps)
PC you picked the bits out for: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/nTcHyc
That's $678.62. Prices might fluctuate a little, but my point stands.
That's $1320.38 cheaper than a Macbook which will perform far worse.
That's $721.38 cheaper than an Alienware computer, of roughly similar specs.
That computer I linked above, will run most games for a few years, most of them at max settings, with a solid 60fps.

But hey, it's your money.

Bugs / Re: Colonist randomly catches on fire till death

Fire up development mode, restore the torso limb as many times as needed, see if it goes away. If he's got bionics or anything like that on the go, they'll be removed, along with scars, etc.

Right, get an exorcist, and get that demon out of your computer, asap.

Never have this issue, I cut the right leg off of all of my prisoners to keep them from stepping out of line.

Theres some mod (I think its not vanilla, anyways), that adds golden and silver floors. Expensive as hell, but they look pretty. You could also always tell your colonists to stop being girly-men (If they're female, I guess it wont work as well).
