Stories / Say You'll Never Let Me Down
January 03, 2016, 01:04:03 AM
Its Been 9 days since we arrived here, 9 long days. Its kind of a blur what happened on that ship, but I distinctly remember the sound of tearing metal and and explosions hundreds of feet away, it was terrifying but its the past now so I need to move on.

I remember trying to find my boyfriend, Nathan, me and him were in the same squadron. I am or I don't know was marine along with 4 other men, and then there was Nathan, the team's medic. I love him. After minutes of throwing up and stumbling, I found him in the armory, throwing up, seemingly sick from cryostasis. The both of us quickly searched for our squadrons belongings and began to put on our power armor, specially designed for long, under-the-radar missions. After, the both of us hurried to the remaning escape pods and jumped in, shot into the unknown.

A few minutes and many lustful moments later we skimmed the side of a mountain and broke through a thick layer of ice covering an ocean.

Not an hour later and minutes between each other, Nathan spotted three pods in the sky. One into the mountain above, another into a large snow pile, buried under six or seven feet of snow and the third burnt up in the atmosphere after spinning out of control, the only remains still heated in ice.

Believe it or not we managed to screw our survival chances and land on an ice sheet, with mountains piercing hundreds of feet above the ice.

It took us a night of sleep to realize that we needed to get into one of the mountains surrounding us for shelter. The temperature during the night fell to -43 degrees, and if it wasn't for the power armor we all had, we'd be dead. Around day three or four of being on this fucking Hoth planet, we made a small, but suitable environment inside the mountain for us to live in.

Its. . its so cold, tonight its going to be nearly -107 degrees outside, and inside right now a staggering 27 degrees. Earlier today we managed to build a makeshift comms system, and traded what extra steel and slate bricks we had for about seven or eight rations of food and water, a few pieces of paper and some pencils.

Nathan used two pieces to write out symptoms we might experience while we're here. He used the other piece one and drew me a picture of a rose. . I loved him so much.

I love the mod, it adds a lot more detail to the game let alone the beginning, however, I can't get past the beginning of the game because my people die of infection(s), I'm sure if you were to get lucky enough you could get a medical bay with some medicine, but I think it would be really cool if your people started out with some medicine. Anyways, great mod! I love it, fun to play with. :)

Stories / Re-Entry

It was almost instant. What felt like minutes was an immense pressure and a few seconds of fire from a thousand suns. There was nothing to hear, nothing to see, nothing to fear. I woke up a few weeks later, not able to move the right side of my body. Then Someone walked into the room, a person I came here with, Alex. I asked her why I could not move properly and she told me that when we were reentering this planets atmosphere, the shuttle we came here on collided with a mountain side and was then thrown into a spiral, finally spinning into a lake and coming to a stop. However, when we hit the mountain I was thrown into the side of the ship, something happened to me, and that's when it started.

Ideas / Daylight sensor cx
March 29, 2015, 02:19:28 AM
Its probably been mentioned already but, a daylight sensor. Like when im playing the game and my guys wake up and go do their daily jobs they leave their rooms with the lights and heaters/Air Conditioning on, and it wastes some energy that i could be using for later purposes. Maybe this idea could be transformed into some sort of enemy sensor for turrets, like for when enemies aren't there the turrets are in sort of off until needed in a few minutes state and when the enemies attack they turn on, without the need to be turned off or on by the colonists, and start attacking the enemies. I think about this sort of stuff way too much :P sorry cx

Hmm! These are all very interesting theories! I love them all! :)

Haha, Its become sentient! That's a good idea, i never thought that it could've been the cooling system. My theory was that the ship was being powered by a fission reactor, and while everyone was in their cryogenic sleep, it over heated and therefore blew up, splitting the ship in half and creating the debris cloud. I wonder what Tynan would say!

At the main menu of the game, it shows the planet, as well as the ship which is broken into two and has a debris cloud in the middle. What do you think happened? Did it explode? Did a meteor collide with it? What are your theories? ^-^ I love to ponder on these types of things!

Dear, whom ever it may concern.

Rimworld is an amazing game, its like prison architect and dwarf fortress got together forgot about minecraft and somewhere along the line GTA 4 and 5 came in. I enjoyed playing Rimworld for the 15 minutes i got to play it. One of my survivors was about to have a mental break down and i didnt know how to fix it, so, me being the one to try survive as long as i can in a game i opened the Wiki. Apon doing so, the game disappeared from my Task bar. And ever since then, everytime i try to open up Rimworld again the same message appears 'There should be 'RimWorld671Win_Data'
folder next to the executable'. If someone could help me with a step-by-step walkthrought to help me with this issue, please help. I love Rimworld its an amazing game and i dont want this silly screw up by some demeanor to give me a false impression upon the game.  sincerely, Thomas.
