Hello,

I am sure that someone somewhere has already asked this (but I couldn't find it via Search), but how do I import my own music into the game? I don't even see sound files in here..surely someone knows the arcane language necessary to call forth mine own musical scores?

Since we have a lot of Let's Players, I thought it might be interesting to establish a challenge of sorts for the up-coming Alpha 10. Now, obviously we don't yet know what will be in Alpha 10, but it is likely to be something rather large, given that it is, after all, the number Ten.

So, I thought it might be interesting to establish a challenge of sorts for our Let's Players. In Alpha 10, we shall see who can get to space first (in game time), on video. Sounds fairly simple - most of us have launched ships before. But here is the catch; Not only must the the difficulty be Extreme Challenge (Cassandra Classic), but there can be no substantive mods (I'll allow aesthetic mods) used besides perhaps Viceroy's Darkness mod (technically an aesthetic mod, but because it makes things so hard for the player to see, it is almost an added difficulty mod).

There are to be no temperature traps, nor are players allowed to completely wall themselves off.

Oh. And No Turrets. Not a One.

There will be upwards of five winners, each receiving an imaginary prize of absolutely nothing. I guess Honor, or something. Anyway.

1. A prize for the first player into space (in game time).
2. A prize for the player who gets the most colonists into space.
3. A prize for the player who has the highest percentage of colonists (all told, across the entire series) make it into space.
4. A prize for the player who gets the most cumulative likes for the series.
5. A prize for the player who pays me the most, in US Dollars.
                    A one week, three-votes-per-person, vote for overall best series in the challenge.

Again, the rules for the competition are:
1. Must play Rimworld: Alpha 10 under Cassandra Classic on Extreme Challenge Mode.
2. Must not use any functionality mods, UI mods, nor any mods besides purely aesthetic mods (and perhaps Viceroy's Darkness - still unsure about that for now.
3. No turrets of any kind may be used.
4. No temperature traps (killing attackers with temperature) are to be set up.
5. No walling off of the colony completely.
6. The entire series must be filmed.
7. (I shouldn't need to say this, but just in case) No Development Mode.
8. Honor-Rule; No reloading saves after unfavorable events. Obviously we have no way of checking this, but where's the fun if nobody gets killed?
9. Each participant implicitly agrees by registering on these forums to send me $10.00 USD monthly until the heat-death of the Universe.
10. Have fun, or at least pretend to have fun.

Anyway, that's enough typing out of me for right now. Tell me what you think of the rules, or if you have any suggestions. I'd like to have your thoughts!

So I was just scrolling through the Member list, looking at the different post-related ranks, and I stumbled upon Supercaffeinedude's website. There, I found Neo-Cretaceous Brittany. I don't want to spoil anything, but you should give it a try or twenty. Not particularly difficult, and only related to Rimworld in that its creator apparently plays Rimworld and is a member of these forums, but still - quite fun.

I'm just now loading up a Let's Play of it just because I thought it would be fun to compare scores...I would recommend you give it a try yourself before watching. Let's keep something of a record of our scores, if possible!

"Hello, everybody, and welcome to our Let's Play of Rimworld: Alpha 8!" He said for what felt like the hundredth time.

So basically, I am playing a Goody colony - no organ harvesting, no cannibalism, no selling people into slavery or euthanizing, and I am not using Killboxes! In fact, I think I've built maybe three turrets throughout this entire series (which is still continuing as of now). My episodes are long, boring, and I am a terrible commentator.To boot, for several episodes, I didn't even know what De-Essing was...so they're painful to listen to at full volume with headphones. I've gotten better, though!

I will admit that we haven't gotten as far as I usually do by this point in the game, but we're still here, and surprisingly so as far as I am concerned. If you're looking to kill several hours watching someone skirt disaster and occasionally speak into a microphone, then this series is for you! With a name as potent as Petra Nova, you are sure to be disappointed with this series. I guarantee it!

No, seriously. You'd be better off just looking at the thumbnails and picking up a new hobby. But you won't learn that second language...so why not watch my Let's Play series? It'll be real intimate like - just you, me, and a video that I made. Won't you stop by and see how we're doing?

So I bought a Name. I realized that I bought it without deciding on what the name would actually be.

As such, I will be holding something of a vote for it. I want the name to be Classical in nature (preferably Grecco-Roman or Indic - we already have several Greek names), and have here included most every name of anyone that most anyone has ever heard of besides Catullus (who sucks). Half of these do not have last names presently, as they are of course meant to be people named after earlier figures. I have also included a few other figures, pseudonyms, and the like which could fit into the theme of the game - or at least I think so.

Anyway, if nobody votes, then I will be forced to choose for myself. If you have other suggestions, then by all means, pay for your own name.
