Real mountain fortresses are pretty impenetrable, too. Frankly, if you had to defend 360-degrees with firing lines instead of killboxes, at the current cost for turrets, colonies would be completely undefendable.

Research tables lack beauty and don't have the gathering-spot option, so you'd end up needing a regular table to form a gathering area. But if this isn't a problem, sure, eat off the research table, why not?

Interesting and useful: The machine functions as a "wall", so you can have the front end in the brig and the back end in the morgue freezer, and thus have it dispense non-spoiling soylent.

Pawns are oddly more upset by being fed soylent instead of longpork chops, even though there should be no difference since the machine should render it into organic slurry. How do they even know? And why is this somehow WORSE?

Maybe there's just no pelvis and the dude's lower section is just flopping about bonelessly? I have no idea how someone accomplishes that by accident, though. How do you REMOVE someone's pelvis and not manage to kill them?

I do think other people should be able to 'treat' (after hauling them to a bed) or 'feed' pawns in a daze though.
You can. Have someone throw them in the brig.

There are some colonists that just have ISSUES. If a colonist refuses to eat and I need that guy, he gets forcefed in the brig. Otherwise, he's executed for insubordination.

Nah, keeping a theme going is important. One statue of a guy vomiting is meh. An entire statue garden of vomiting is awesome.

The real question is why you wastefully harvest someone's entire liver. Livers have this interesting property of being the only organ that can regenerate even if most of it is lost. Harvest half of their liver and it will grow back, so you can harvest it again.

Quote from: TheVoidDragon on February 27, 2015, 12:27:10 PMWhere did you get the idea that there's spyware from? There's VAC but that only checks you haven't modified certain game files for certain games.  They aren't going to away your stuff without a reason, either.
From what I hear, "Being German" is one of their reasons.

Well, the chance for a blight to happen is basically "1". It will ALWAYS happen. I have not had a game where it did not. % chance to hit your current crop, well, obviously, it will always hit your current crop. If it didn't, there wouldn't be a blight.

Quote from: tommytom on February 25, 2015, 06:49:51 PMI have read now that even if it eventually gets on steam, I will probably not even get a steam key and will require manually downloading every update, which is sooooooo 1990s.
But I *LIKE* manually downloading every update. I don't WANT things making unauthorized changes to my computer unsolicited. I want to be able to review what, exactly, will happen should I install this, and then prepare accordingly before doing anything.

Quote from: tommytom on February 25, 2015, 06:49:51 PMThe main appeal to steam is a automatic updating system, community/blog updates right in the game info panel, and obviously the ease of access.
And the spyware. Don't forget the part where they know everything you have on your computer as a result of it hovering around, monitoring what you're doing, and spying on the contents of your system memory in some misguided attempt to stop you from "cheating". Or the part where they can just take away your stuff at whim. And don't say that this doesn't happen, it already has.

I, for one, am fine with this being Steam-free and would prefer it stay that way.

You know what he should do? Make blights destroy only ONE type of crop. So you have corn blights, and potato blights, and strawberry blights, and rice blights. That right there gives you a reason not to have all of one thing.

Probably because i build obsessively squared colonies where everything is in nice order and just about perfectly symmetrical.
Yeah, I have this too, which is why my spaceship ends up with an extra engine. For me, however, it does not extend to the need to do this with buildings.

Anyway this is much easier to accomplish on a vast plain outdoors, since mountains tend to have stuff inside them you can't see until you dig in, like crypto chambers, unroofed regions etc. They ruin a carefully designed layout.
You know what else ruins a carefully designed layout, though? Being on FIRE.

Quote from: tuver on February 23, 2015, 11:10:06 PMMy artist could make statues about killing the crazy boar, or fighting off pirates, but no, they make statue after statues of people vomiting.
Be honest, if you made a statue, what would you make? I know vomiting is pretty high on MY list.
