CARINOMA WAS A TYPO IN THE LATEST BLOG POST, TWO BLOG POSTS EARLIER IT SAIS CARCINOMA WHICH CAN AFFECT ANY BODY PART. YES WE SHALL HAVE CANCER IN RIMWORLD.

I almost find it funny that in your saying that it was announced as a typo, you typo'd. Type-ception. Either way, I still liked the rabbit hole we got into within a few posts.

Interesting. Im reading the WHO pfd on it.
http://apps.who.int/iris/bitstream/10665/41544/1/WHO_TRS_849_%28part1%29.pdf

It would appear to be caught via ill-prepared food but one of the vectors seems to be from aquatic animals.... Fishing confirmed?

I did a quick google of the 'carinoma' and it appears to be related to worms (maybe related to dune's worms or they might just be similar to the tremors worms, (or in really benign form the parasite worms that allready 'infect' most species)

I did a "quick" google search as well. I looked over the first 10 pages of query and all I got was Carcinoma. Would you mind linking me your find?

In that list I noticed alot of "im going to ruin your colony"-esque entries. Maybe Carinoma is someone being obsessed with cars to the point of being debilitated and that the only time they are happy is when one of those trade caravans come around with their wagons and such. Maybe? :P

If the devs werent chicken crap, I would of recommended Towns. It had alot of potential before it was "released" as a finished product when its clearly still alpha.

I clicked the link provided and I have a weird question

New chronic diseases: Carinoma, asthma, hearing loss

Is that suppose to be Carcinoma as in cancer? Or is there something specifically called "Carinoma". Im not trying to be a grammar nazi or anything, Im just curious is all.

The only downside is that the 360controller feels wonky, I bet the steam controller would play perfectly.

Why play with a controller? To get that old school Harvest Moon feel?

Sucks, lasts too long and serves no purpose beyond making you want to revert to a previous save. /rant

It would probably be better to just give a buff to learning skills based off research skill, up to 20%. 15 research skill? 15% extra learning speed for everything.

That could be something. Maybe introduce a bookself joy item that can slowly build research of colonist.

Not if the bookshelf is filled with things that would lead to "Private time" joy activity...

Nothing wrong with firing off a couple knuckle children.

You're not supposed to bump it without adding anything to it. You could of added at least new ideas, anything. Honestly it seems like what you're suggesting is simply random mood buffs researchers get about research, although without actually being related. Wouldn't really make them useful. It would be nice for a use for something after research but this would just be additional random mood boosts that colonists get already.

hmm.. Then perhaps temporary buffs to other actions. For instance higher success rate on surgery and a boost in sculpting speed.

edit*
I am referring to buffs AFTER the full tech tree is researched. That an option will refresh after X amount of ticks (to prevent spamming) that will enable your researcher to continue to be able to use that skill. As it stands, after you complete the tech tree the research skill is completely useless. I wanted to give it some use through out your colony's life.
