General Discussion / Re: Estimates on system requirements?
« on: October 06, 2013, 03:45:57 PM »
From what I've read, the game will use the Unity 3D engine. Then I put the minimum requirements to run it.

http://spanish.unity3d.com/unity/system-requirements

I guess I do not think the graphics requirements increase much to what we have seen are 2D and few particle effects, so if you can to increase processor and / or RAM, because the calculations to be made for the implementation the game, I do not think they are few.

Question: In Rimworld, in the future, there will be option to play a single game colonist, like a rpg, as the Adventurer Dwarf Fortress Mode?

Ideas / Re: Got an idea for an incident?
« on: October 04, 2013, 07:47:34 PM »
Time travel:

During the game you see a new settler, by the same name and is a copy of one of the settlers (which you already had will call A and the new, I travel in time, B).

That means that, at some future point in the game, to build a time machine and travel back in time, becoming B.

The fields to follow would be, you are playing with A and B, there comes a time that builds the time machine, and you disappear the settler A (to have traveled back in time) and you have left the settler B (would be an advantage as which in principle B is better than A, because it has had more time to improve).

You do not build the time machine, which is a paradox porduce catastrophic effects (A and B die or disappear, some incident, ...)

Edit:
I've seen that already had ideas since time travel, this would be my idea of how to make a journey playable in-game time.

General Discussion / [Question] Rimworld achievements?
« on: October 04, 2013, 07:23:01 PM »
Although it is a narrative game, there is a question that I have.

Have the game achievements?.

There are many games that even use the achievements to unlock game modes and other features (for example, in Reus)

Thank you all for their replies

There are also surprised by the percentage of goal achieved in so little time.

Ideas / Re: [Suggestion] Rosetta Program: Translate the game
« on: October 03, 2013, 02:53:38 PM »
(...) possibly the language of the former manager translate out if native language.
Wait, what ?
I don't even...

I burnt too many brain cells to understand that sentence, so allow me to skip to something else :o

Translation: yes of course, as long as it's a switchage parameter in-game, and not something that is forced on people according to their computer's locale.
I hate it when a program (or a website, for that matter) decide to switch to my mother-tongue without asking me.
And it's even worse when there's no way to change it (besides said locales, or even more complicated stuff).

I helped an automatic translator, my English level is very low.

----

The idea was that, location, and in the early levels is impossible, it was an idea I'd had, Rimworld community that could help in some or all of the process, but if the game is procedurally generated text, that's is more complicated.
