Ideas / Weekly Report
September 21, 2013, 03:03:29 PM
In many games are doing, there a strategy that I really like is to make a weekly report, if is possible the same day (eg game to Kerbal Space Program, and every Tuesday report the news, they have done, if they can gain some pictures or art, ... also "Toady One" is posting (if I remember correctly) on Friday that news has made or work in Dwarf Fortress)

Keep the community informed, eager for news and discussion topic is given until next week when the euphoria of the first novelty wears.

Oh yes, definitely, $20 is the pre-alpha get-the-earliest-publicly-released version tier.

Great news, few campaigns give access to the pre-alpha, it will be well received by all.

General Discussion / Re: Introduce Yourself!
September 20, 2013, 06:25:47 AM
I am a working as informatic catalan.

I've done a bit of everything, "I am jack of all trades, master of none" as they say where I live.

I read a lot (science fiction, fantasy, mythology i anthropology), I love documentary films of the conquest of space, I love sushi, Japanese culture, the malt whiskey, cats and dwarfs (dwarves who dig tunnels, not Tyrion Lannister  ;D )

-What Introduced you to RimWorld? Or to this style of game in general?
It was thanks to Rock, Paper, Shotgun, one of my daily reads.
-What's your favorite other game?
If I could only choose one it would be Dwarf Fortress, the best stories designed generator. Although the truth, I'm a player of Lord of the Rings Online and Crusaders Kings 2.
-Most embarrassing gaming-related story?
Winning a game of Starcraft (the first) in numerical inferiority, being completely drunk.
-What kind of breakfast cereal is the best?
Coffee, but for breakfast, lunch, snack, dinner, ...

And/or put up ridiculous pictures, as you see fit.

General Discussion / Rimworld Music/OST?
September 19, 2013, 04:53:39 PM
It know Tynan is looking  2d artist (which by the way, to see if I talk to my sister, who has studied art and design), but I came to mind my other brother who is a musician.

There designed or implemented the sound in the game?

I guess my brother would be happy to collaborate.

As shown, leave link to composition made long ago to and that I really liked and I think something like that would be perfect for music in our colonies.

I have never read sci-fi books, any recommendation for a first read?

The Mars trilogy, as we said, is more than recommended, especially because it's the same theme from the game (colonization)

Other great works of science fiction are Dune by Frank Herbert, and the Foundation trilogy by Isaac Asimov (Foundation, Foundation and Empire and Second Foundation).

Another great book would be Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card.

Seeing the number of members in the forum (there are 55 registered), my question is?

When you have 100 registered, will have the title of "The First Hundred" (in the book Red Mars, named so for the first hundred colonists)  ;D
