Bowler Hats are evil enough but top hats take the cake. They're evil but daper at the same time.

For those psychopaths out there, just imagine... Humanskin tophats!

I had prisoners bleed to death because my best doctor wanted to "go for a walk" instead of patching them up. His recreation meter was nearly full when he chose to participate in recreation. Probably wanted to cap it before he went to heal my prisone... Oh wait they died of blood lost.

Wow the 1.0 update teaser image looks great. The graphics look so realistic. Kudos to the devs for improving the graphics.

Bugs are starting to become annoying, I mine out a piece of overhead mountain several feet from my base in hope of finding uranium. Infestation spawns with 5 hives and a whole caravan load of bugs. I'm like okay the bugs don't seek you out if something other than the colony messes with them.

Nope, visitors go past them, they are killed quickly and they go after me. Raiders accidentally stumble upon bugs, they die, they go after me. Cold snap happens, the little bugs become downed due to hypothermia, the god damn little shits go after me. What the hell does them dieing to cold have to do with me.

Bring bedrolls with you on caravans as this will provide better comfort and rest also they are light to carry.

Full flak armor set seems to be a somewhat  effective way to protect colonist right before marine armor during mid-game. Pair with devil strand shirt for a bit more protection. Edit: don't wear full flak set in winter as you will likely freeze without a parka on.

Always have your colony split between melees and shooters as this will be a life saver in most events.

Prioritize colonists with frail, bad back, etc as these age related de buffs are annoying if you get a healer mech serum.

If you ever kill a raider who has impressive skills(not your fault RNG chooses who gets down or killed) preserve their body in a freezer and  forbid your animals from eating them. Revive them with a resurrection serum and capture as they will be downed due to resurrection sickness.(Recommend that you resurrect your dead colonist first then raiders but it's your choice.)

Edit: Unsure if this has been apart of the game in previous versions or not but you can place traps under rocks. This slows and damages anything that walks over rocks.

I've been attempting to increase goodwill with other factions by sending gifts via drop pods. Apparently they just want to take all the "good" and "excellent" things my crafters take their time to make and give me a measly +18 rating.

General Discussion / Hit everyone with them 1.0 tips
August 01, 2018, 06:10:07 PM
Basically post useful tips that are beneficial within 1.0. There's a lot of change stirring, which has potential for beta testers to post tips so newcomers can be prepared once 1.0 is launched.

Number your tips.. I'll start.

Tip 1: Do not open a ancient building early on, trust me, 4 scythers came out and downed my butt before i can even run a safe distance  away from them.

Dekker, my mediocre animal tamer decided to sit down and chat with muffalos in order to tame them. He feeds them and then proceeds to speak to them about simple things such as swimming, rights, politics, etc. The muffalo apparently joined after hearing about board games.

How does board games and other random things convince a animal to join your colony. Are they curious to watch you play them or are they curious to view the things you spoke of.

- Even tho your long post has a point, I cant help but to feel that it was an excuse to plug in your book.

FWIW, I make basically no money off my book. There's zero chance that the effort to write that post was worth the cup of convenience store coffee I might earn from related book sales. This is about RimWorld and the RW community.
How much is the book.

General Discussion / Predict the name of v1.0

Basically predict what you think Tynan is going to name v1.0.

My suggestion...

"A floating demise"
