They drop from space and every plant spreads a tile every few seconds. You can kill it just with  fire or melee, shooting doesn't work.

IMO the broken states simply last too long. If the duration is decreased to say 8-16 hours it'd be much more reasonable.

Love the glass idea.  All you need is sand and high heat, like the smelter could maybe also used to make sand into glass.

Of course you can't get sand anywhere, but soil/earth can be processed to get sand out of it if needed...
