Perhaps a "Noah's Ark" tactic is required!

All the animals, get into the wood room!

General Discussion / Re: Concussions?

It used to for sure, but I haven't seen it in A11

The thread is not asking Tynan to give us a twenty page essay on what he plans to do and how with full details, the thread is simply asking Tynan's simple opinion and thought on what's to be expected.

It's not anyone's place to say what the game is and isn't, considering it was made as a storytelling colony simulator. If you want to win or lose, that's your choice, nobody should be saying that that's wrong or improper to play. If you want to have 200 people, have 200 people, don't tell others that that's wrong.

General Discussion / Re: Toxic Fallout
July 12, 2015, 12:31:18 PM
The plant life will eventually grow back, I've had one toxic fallout that lasted about two months.

I'd say, make all of your indoor areas of your colony the allowed spaces, and if the colonists have to wander outside they'll be fine since they won't stay outside.

You're all fighting over something useless.

Make children an option, since some part of the community is a bunch of "moral individuals" (It's okay to kill people, just not if they're under 18.) And the other half is actually okay with kids since they know it'd add to what the game is supposed to be.

Plasteel isn't required in anything in vanilla except for melee weapons, so yes it's coming from a mod.

actually you can use plasteel to build the most powerfull wall with most hitpoints....I use it mainly for my walls

The keyword in what she said was "required."

It is very preciouse as nuclear fuel for shure but its completly unreal to just handle it like steel, as implemented in Rimworld (and most other Games, to be fair), for multiple, simple scientific reasons. To start its very unlikely to be found as a vein of pure metal - that would form a natural reactor and deteriorate fast as such. Also its very toxic because even a few milligram will simply ray you to death from inside in a few days and ofcourse if you find or even start smithing it these milligrams will end up inside you.
If at all it should be in the game as something you have to refine from for example pitchblende but even then only with extreem caution and hightec chemistry and machines.

But then again uranium should not exist in Rimworld. Our earth crust contains 2.4 ppm uranium. That is 0.00024 percent.

If you would move this correlation into Rimworld simulation, giving that one minable block of ore usualy results in 35 units of ore, you would have to mine 14.58 million worldblocks to gain 1 unit of uranium.

Friendly reminder that this isn't real life, as if it was realistic I doubt colonists would be capable of constructing batteries, wind turbines, solar panels and turrets out of just steel.

Make a backup stockpile with low priority so that if the main freezer is filled, the rest is transferred to the backup until a spot is opened up in the main one.

step 1) apply to become public tester
step 2) become public tester
step 3) get home and discover no internet for ages (ISP where adamant we hadn't paid the bill when we had)
step 4) see alpha 11 released
step 5) finally get internet back
step 6) write a post so that everyone knows

Step 7) Convince yourself that public testing is some sort of big secret that nobody must know about.

Ideas / Re: Vanilla-friendly fog of war?
May 26, 2015, 06:31:38 PM
Make it an option and the fog should lift in view of your colonists + turrets.

You're all overthinking this. Tynan has stated nothing about stopping piracy, all he said is that if you own the game you can pirate older copies of it if you wish.

It's obviously "zer-i-gi-em"
