Good thinkin. Could chop them up into bite sized vids. Plenty of games have done that and I think it works pretty well. Click here to see a vid on this thingy or that thingy or your thingy or my thingy or just thingies in general.

Can't disagree with OP honestly. Much rather just tame what I want as I go or simply use traders. Not too keen on everything randomly adopting me and turning my base into a petting zoo or a giant meat locker if I actually wanna stop the madness.

It's not like you can't deal with it in "ways" but more irritating than it needs to be currently.

Yeah what they said... Not everything DF got by with is gonna work in this game. Only reason that worked in DF is you couldn't see the fence even if there was one lolz.... DF took alot of imagination to fill in the gaps which is likely why you ither loved it or didn't even bother.

But I wouldn't worry about it too much cuzz Itchy has you covered. Check the mods section, and don't be scared they won't make your comp explode. Well most wont  :)

So have gotten quite a bit more playtime in and noticed that the joy system really does help make your lil guys feel less "lifeless" and robotic. But you never really see what they're up to unless you specifically focus on your dudes while they happen to be doing one of these actions like "praying" for instance(I was kinda shocked when I saw that one. Pretty cool honestly and I'm no religious person). I mean lil things like that I LOVE to see but almost always miss when it happens without anims.

Sense animations are pretty much out of the question and you already use a chat bubble of sorts, you see where I'm going with this?

Now I'm not talking about trying to convey each pawn's actual words like the sims cheesy system. All I'm talking about is conveying they're "feelings" at a given time, during an action or chat sequence or even in a general sense when something they like or dislike happens. Something that's easy to follow on screen that doesn't require 100% of your attention on one pawn at any given time to follow the drama...

In short..., icon usage inside the chat bubble somewhat like the sims but not..... god this is hard to explain lolz. Not pictures of events and shit but general icons. Leaving some stuff to the imagination. Pictures of events don't do this very well imo. I'm partial to these smileys even cuzz they are cute. I mean who doesn't like smileys  ;D   8)   ::)   :-[   :-\   >:( 

Something like this may have already been planned so just ignore the post if so. But wanted to get that out there while I was thinking about it . Back to playing for me...., Cass is being nice to me for once :P

I've never built a ship. I'll admit it. Couple thousand hours prolly and still not one ship piece or part ever built. I just can't do it, not interesting to me. I'd rather watch my base burn to ash then "win". On the other hand if there was something beyond just ending the game when you leave the planet....

And don't even try anything sneaky cuzz rumor has it they're partial to butter knives and not afraid to use em.
Also, if you've served time you should mention that because they're a real hard core crowd like that and may just give a free pass. And rumor has it they're boycotting thongs atm too so that may be something to think about.

Oh and you must like cats apparently  ::) And hate dogs...., and babies..., and small mammals........

Woot Boreal!!! FK yeah man I knew that was the right choice.... I WIN I WIN!!!!!

Boreal has a little of everything... heck you can even get heatwaves at times. Only downside is trees.... my word the trees..............someone say trees? Chop them, they grow back before you've finished cutting 10 of them. Burn them, there went your house and every living thing on the map. Don't do anything with them, get raped by every raider with a red rider bb gun. So yeah............ treeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees.

You know I never noticed the 1 hp thing. Just keep throwing the kitchen sink, shoes, diapers, tell something goes to sleep lolz. Is that a new thing in 12? I meen they always had sections/parts to them but don't remember anything like that... stuck at 1 hp? Sounds buggish to me haha

Bout the only reason I'd agree that mechs where OP is MAYBE that they don't belong in all difficulty levels.

Otherwise nerfing the only real challenge left in the game seems extreme. Again, more enemies to fill the difficulty gaps/levels. Maybe even some hints/tips for countering enemies that you are having trouble with while playing the game. A colonist dies from an enemy type and you are offered some advice on defeating them.

But cents are counter-able even without turrets. As others have suggested walls are your friend, weapon ranges should be abused, grenades(that's right don't forget grenades with some savy wall placement. Bunch them up and well....). Captured pawns with cruddy skills make wonderful naders. Last but not least, make sure YOUR shooters can't be out-ranged by mechs attacking your base. This is all done with simple wall placement. Anyways.......
