Argh... I consider making a guide-graph in inkscape to answer all these questions "How I produce this and that".

I'd include also some helpful info for amounts of resources each industry takes. Would you like something like this?
That would be a good idea. Especially for things like integrated circuits and how to make them exactly (as I wasted many electronic components thanks to slowly feeding them to the machine instead of all at once [which just uses them but never produces anything])

The actual "Power Armor" is not going to be one giant solid sheet, because ..... you know, that isn't how armor works. In order for a person to move in it, it has to be able to shift and move over the body. Hence, plates of armor material. Breastplate, pauldrons, helmet, vambraces, all that.

"High tech future materials" or not, there will always be some deficiency in anything that can be abused.
And I still find it highly unlikely that the flexible parts aren't made out of hightech materials that also offer a high cut protection.

Have you ever heard of carbon nanofibres? Those are so thin and flexible you could implant it under your skin to get bullet/knife proof (meaning: Piercing/Cutting proof. And the body won't reject it because it's just pure carbon), so making protective gear out of it would be only logical and we can make that stuff already (although not in usable amounts yet).

If you make the "base" of the suit out of such a stuff you would get a protection that works perfect against piercing and cutting attacks and the "armor plates" would just serve to take the blow of heavy/plasma attacks to prevent broken bones or burning of the wearer.

Why not? A knife between armor plates is still a knife slotted between armor plates......
Unless it's a airtight Power Armor made out of hightech future materials. I highly doubt that the makers of power armors would overlook the "knife between armor plates" problem (unless ofc the knife itself is made out of hightech materials and made with the target of piercing power armors)

if you think that piece of farming advice is satisfying to learn, just wait until you get a hold of someone who's good at farming and has the green thumb trait.
Add some bionic arms and eyes and BAM! one harvest can feed your colony for a year.

I've got a cook that is so good that I imagine he could butcher a fly and get 100 meat out of it. (Yes I play modded and my cook has ~600% on getting resources from butchering)

Hello altogether,
probably a dumb question but i have absolutely not been able to find an answer to this:
What are the requirements to build integrated cirsuits?

Electronics table in Hi-Tech table. You need copper parts, sand, wires and spare parts for them. To be able to build electronics table you need to research crafting I believe. Maybe also first level of power/construction.

Not only need you the table you ALSO need the Electronics factory and have to feed it with 10+ electronic components (at ONCE, if you feed it too few it will use them but not produce anything) for a batch of electronic circuits (which are made with the above mentioned resources). Oh and the Electronics factory only needs the electronics components to make different kinds of circuits (but they take more resources the more advanced they are)

Sooo... one of my doctors has finally done it. I had a prisoner with a shot of leg so I ordered that he would get a peg leg, one of my best doctors went to work (skill of ~8-9 and yes hes completely healthy)... and I get the message "catastrophic operation failure", so I go and look and see that the friggin doctor ACCIDENTIALLY removed the BRAIN while operating on the LEG. WTF?!  :o

So I installed everything right and the first time I play a colony everything works. The problem is if I close the game and load the colony the screen is black (save the tabs) and the console to the left is open (and throws errors). Oh and I play on english

I think a good solution for the giant Raid problem could be that your wealth not only dictates the amount of pawns that get send but also the equipment they carry with them. So you would get a raid of 1 person in full power armor and a machine gun instead of 15 people with shivs and cloth clothing. (ofc we would have to find a different solution for the tribals, as they haven't really got access to expensive equipment)

Or does it work like that already? (I alway felt like it was semi random how well equipped pirate attacks are)

The hydroponics data is outdated as the hydroponics tables now ALSO have qualities. A shoddy one gives more than normal soil but less than rich soil, while you can get tables which go to 150% or higher (I have a excellent one which has... 148% I think)

Are you sure that's a vanilla hydroponics table, because I'm looking at one now and it doesn't have a quality at all.
Hrmm it may be a modded one... I HAVE a modpack installed but I'm not 100% sure what comes from a mod... I usually don't use hydroponics in the vanilla game as I either don't get to them before the colony dies OR I already have enough growing spac (in combination with sunlamps)

Don't know where those wiki figures came from.

Devisltrand takes 45 days of full light and temperature to grow. It also rests for 12 hours per day, ie no growth. There for it take 90 days to fully grow.

Hydroponics increases the growth rate to 128% which reduces the grow time to 32.4 grow days, or 64.8 actual days to fully grown.

A pretty easy way to deal with such kinds of raids is having a crashed ship (not the posion one) with max psy-drone and all your pawns with tinfoil-helmets. Just sit back and enjoy the (laggy) slaughter fest they'll start soon... Now I want a psy tower for my colony which gives attackers a hefty mood debuff...

Ideas / Re: Human walls and buildings
August 25, 2015, 03:54:48 PM
WELL there are multiple buildings decorated with human bones in RL and some cultures used the bones/skulls of their enemies to make things (cups, chairs etc.). It isn't really crazy, it is just a way to use all resources that are avaible to you.

Honestly I'm for a implementation of bones in general as a stuff (not just Human bones), you can cook with them or make things out of them (bone weapons/things are far better than wood in terms of durability and are pretty good for sharp weapons).

I usually go with a temperate forest and I prefer a all year growth period (For my easy games).

Desert is my prefered if I want a harder game and Ice Sheet if I have my sadistic/masochistic time of the day ("You get Frostbite and you get Frostbite. EVERYONE gets Frostbite!")

Am I the only one that will now try to make a herd of boomalopes and train them as suicide bombers for sieges? :D

I for my part love the tin foil helmets (are they added with a mod?), I have a ship part on the other side of the map for 3 years and tbh it's far more helpfull than any kind of defense (ofc you get mad animals etc. but the fact that sieges solve themselfes without me stepping in is pretty nice)
