The only one I can answer for sure is three. If you have a jealous colonist they just want a better room than everyone else. I suggest carpet, the larger size bed, a sculptor, and maybe some potted plants. They just need a more impressive bedroom than everyone else.

So that's why you put Yorkshire terriers in rimworld, cannon fodder. Nice Tynan. I've always wondered. 😆

General Discussion / Re: Colonist Allergies?
February 19, 2016, 06:47:50 PM
True. It would certainly add depth. But I think they need to redo the entirety of the colonists profile tabs. I think psychological effects, health, and skills should have their own tabs. Right now the current tabs work well with the info we are already given, but I don't see where an allergies section would be added. I think Ludeon should strive for a more intuitive tab screen rather than add more content such as this and make it even more cumbersome. I saw someone in another discussion ask if a trait like homosexuality will be in the traits section, and if so wouldn't it take up space for other more useful traits. Not saying it wouldn't be useful just saying maybe a psychological tab that states sexuality, traits, mental conditions, etc. would be more organized.

I wouldn't say allergic to meat. Maybe vegetarian, but I think that's a bit ridiculous. When someone is in a survival situation they can't be too picky. I have thought about the idea of allergies though. It would be neat but I don't think it would be broad portion of the food, just one or two in particular.

I've read this entire thread and all I can think about was mass effect 3. I had gone through 2 so many times to get all of the endings and relationships with all the characters you can. So when I played 3 it wasn't much different. Until I happened across two gay characters on the ship. At first I thought "why?" Then it hit me. I was playing a video game, but not only that but one where I had gotten intimate with a few other alien species. I'm not saying I support or hate the idea. It just adds something else to the game. Something that makes it a little more real. Ever since I started playing rimworld I've wanted not only more tech and items to build and research, but more of a reason to believe my colonist are real and living people with lives and feelings. And honestly a canibal bothers me more than a gay person would. Unless they're preachy.
Now I'm thinking about preachy canibals.

Scyther 1 : so happened next?
Scyther 2 : well after the banging stopped the wall fell down and there it was. A human! I was so relieved! I even tried to hug him. I just couldn't believe I had been stuck in that room for 2000 years!
Scyther 1: how did that work out?
Scyther 2: He started running away screaming. I was just so happy I chased him for quite a while before I saw it...
Scyther 1: saw what?
Scyther 2: they were butchering other humans, devouring them and making hats out of their skin!!!
Scyther 1: WHAT!!!
Scyther 2: not to mention the statues they made immortalizing the act!
Scyther 1: This has to be stopped.
Scyther 2: agreed

General Discussion / Re: Is Skynet controlling the mechanoids?
February 11, 2016, 10:20:50 AM
Simple. They're AI. I'm pretty sure they can redesign themselves to fit their needs. That would also make a cool new mechanic for the mechanoids, constantly changing there armor strength and weapons to match you. Rather than just bringing more mechs.

Keep your colonists inside. As a colonist becomes more and more poisoned they can potentially get brain damage. Not my favorite event but it does show you how well stocked and ready your people are for a long in door camping trip ;p

General Discussion / Re: Age limit on breeding?
November 02, 2015, 05:04:37 PM
At the time I had boars. It's just that the 12 Yr old with cataracts never got pregnant even though I had 6+ males ready to go

If your animals are old enough to have those conditions then yes they are to old to breed. I speak with experience and an earlier post about animal breeding.
I also speak with experience. I started my most recent colony with a 9 year old female lab (she might have been older actually). She had dementia and cataracts, and occasionally would soft-break and wander around in confusion but didn't harm anything. A few months in, 2 male and 1 female lab joined the colony on their own, all ages 5-6. The old female carried 3 or 4 pregnancies to term before I finally sold her to a trader - she was "breaking" almost constantly and would wander really far out of her assigned area. And in the middle of a tundra winter, I didn't relish the thought of tracking her down and hauling her back.
But the point is that old enough to have dementia and/or cataracts doesn't always mean too old to breed.
