Mods / Re: [Mod Request] animal armor

Thats what I meant  , I don't see a way to add HP or even armor rating to an implant.

Thats what I meant by adding a new body part, so the armor could be attached via an instant surgery with no anesthetic, meds required. I just don't think you can add hp or modify hp with a HediffDef . And I don't think you can add hp to a part like a bionic leg modifies movement or a bionic arm modifies manipulation.  HP isn't in the same category as manipulation, move speed, breathing etc.

Yes , but those hit points would be there from the start , which would negate a reason for armor and buff all animals for no reason.  Hit points don't seem to be an attribute that can be augmented just by changing a HediffDef file. I could be wrong . I haven't discovered a way to do it.  I'm not qualified enough or it could probably be done by just copying the apparel system to pets.

Extremely looking forward to the new scenarios .

What I was thinking about was adding in a new animal body part Which does nothing , has no hit points etc.. which would be able to be replaced by animal armor . I'm 99% sure that can be done without assemblies . I can't figure out how to make the armor useful as I don't see a way to make the armor add something like extra hit points or chance to avoid damage or something armor would do, at least without assemblies.      Doing assemblies is like magic !

It might be possible to add something like a harness that improves carry weight or movement speed etc ... and im pretty sure those have already been done.

I'd recommend against the use of such a mod buddy. quite a bit of the fun of rim world is the scarcity of resources forcing you to make tough choices, and using such a mod would take that away.

I can determine for myself what I find personally fun . I can determine for myself what I find less fun than the previous Alpha. The scarcity of resources being fun is just like, your opinion man. :)

Mods / Re: Some suggest with mod order?

Does EDB mod order load things better than the normal mod order loading?

I would make a sticky post in the mods forum for at least 12d and 13 by a moderator where the 1st post is a list of all known mods for that version.  Its kind of like the new mods sticky post now except for that list

Oh I did that too , I think I made it 75 steel to 5 components at about half the time. I've also been working on a mod where you can build absolutely everything , by making plastic from corn, then making circuitry, batteries , etc from that, and normal ingredients to make more use of things like jade , uranium, plasteel etc.

One thing I did to fix this problem was go into ThingDefs_Buildings\Buildings_Natural.xml and change mineableYield to from 35 to 75 for Steel,Plasteel,Jade,Gold,Silver, and components from 3 to 5 then increased mineableScatterCommonality of them all  for more deposits a bit ,and finally increased mineableScatterBlotchSizeRange on those items so larger deposits appear.

The answer is yes . You could alter several of the ThoughtDef XML files and remove the mood penalties for things like selling prisoners.

Off-Topic / Re: Have you ever stepped on a nail?
May 26, 2016, 11:29:24 AM
YES , about 30 years ago , my left foot. We had ,years earlier, built a tree platform . It rotted and started falling . I stepped on a 2x4 with a nail and thought there might be more boards under the leaves and there wasn't anything nearby to grab for balance , so I ended up hopping up and down on the nail 3 times.   I still have a lot of trouble with that foot now :(

What JJ Abrams films are you talking about?  He never made any Star Trek films.  He made some recent giant piles of crap that for some odd reason had characters that shared names with the original Trek series. Are those the piles of crap you are talking about?
