Recently been playing A17 unstable and have been getting a few mechanoid raids and was wonder where do they come from and where do they get their resources?

Thus my first suggestion is that the mechanoid have bases or technically fortified factories they would basically be like any other faction base but futuristic. On the world map they appear sparse and spread out through the world.

Now my second suggestion is for a new mechanoid "Harvestor" they're are similar to the alpha beavers expect instead of wood they mine any exposed resources and if they're is none they try to take yours and attack your deep drilling mines. I imagine the Harvestor would appear late game and to combat late game colonies they would be heavily armoued and for guns they would have something similar to a LMG.

When i build cave base i tend to build a small temporary base outside so my pawns stay happy. I do this because mining out a base can take a while and pawns tend to get unhappy when they don't have a room.

+1 i'm down for shoes and especially for snow boots. However, if the do i would imagine a very high durability is needed so they don't become another clothing item to worry about.

+1 i would love to see more biomes and different variations of the current ones. I for one would like to see a extremely mountainous biome where there is very few places to grow food

I'd also like to chip in here that self-tending is forced by right-clicking on the pawn himself and not the medicine, just in case that's what's going on.
Don't want to make a new bug report for this because it sorta similar but has anyone notice its hard to force the pawn to self-heal by right clicking like you have to click in the right spot? It might just be me

Can you please link the log file and the "crash report" so they can find out what the problem is. Also do you know how many gb of ram you have?

A Manhunter caribou came to my two pawns to attack them but both of them were set to "Attack" instead of "flee" so they both began to shot at the caribou but then they both took cover on the same corner and are merged. I'm not exactly to sure how to give steps to reproduce it some i'm just going to link the save and log file.

Did somebody say Griswold family Christmas? Sorry, had to.

Yeah, you shouldn't be able to build a roof over a tree beyond x% growth.

Cultivating raspberries could be a thing if it had a negative, like wasting that season's berries. As somebody who has had quite a patch in real life, I'm well aware you don't plant the berries, but whatever. You also don't make flammable walls out of naturally occurring steel alloy in the real world.

The bushes are already kind of over-powered as it is, as you can crash-land in winter and survive off them. To have a whole field of blight-proof self-growing plants that you could send a hungry colonist to with no debuff for eating raw, I would almost call that game-breaking.
I gave some thought to it and it does seem sorta op if you can grow them yourself even with the long growing time. So it would be exclusively replant wild ones but to make berry farming risky there would be 51% chance of failure at level 0, it would decrease by 2.5% per level, and at level 20 it would be 1%. What this means is the pawn fails to remove it properly from it original location on the map thus destroying the berry bush forever. This would add a risk factor to trying to farm the plant early game, because you could potential destroy of food source, but if done successful it would be worth it. Harvesting the replanted berries bushes would still have a chance to fail. What makes planting the berry bushes worth it is that it can be harvested round-year and are immune to blight but with the high chance of failure i believe they would be balanced nicely.

My guess is that, in the absence of others reporting the same problem, this is likely to be an issue local to your system. Although it's strange that it only started happening in the most recent unstable build (maybe it will fix itself when the next build is released?). I'll leave this in bugs for now in case others notice it and it encourages them to post reporting the same issue. But if this thread suddenly disappears then it probably got moved to support..

You jinxed it

I'm having the same issues since today. Any colony saves really slowly.
Never had that issue on any previous versions. I would be surprised if it was a hardware issue because it was working fine earlier this week.

Specs
CPU: i7-6700K
GPU: ASUS GTX 1080 STRIX
RAM: 32GB Corsair Dominator
SSD: 512GB Samsung 960 Pro M2

Can provide more details if necessary.
Hope someone can figure out what the problem is.
Cheers!
How long is it taking for you to save?

Ideas / Re: Egg Collecting (Chicken Nesting)
May 13, 2017, 07:06:53 AM
I like this idea, but it needs to be built on a little, because it make sense because chicken don't just wander around and lay eggs everywhere they nest. Chickens should lay eggs in nests/animal boxes, but wait there are no nests. Introducing, cooler than boxes, nests! provided hay chickens will build nests in random locations where there allowed to be. If this is done then BAM! collecting eggs will never be easier for bad path-finding Terry. But of course if you don't give old Charline the chicken a nest or box they will continue to lay eggs randomly :D.

I have no idea why i wrote this like an ad but hope fully it persuades you to implement nests and designated chicken laying spots for onl-
