Apparently they'll die to the cold if they use power armor instead of parkas... Maybe you should edit parkas to act like power armor? :D

I allready made it so the power armor protects -100C since it was stupid while a wool parka could protect for -200C... So i am still waiting for help on this, anyone?

PawnKindDef handles item quality through, well, the "itemQuality" tag. Same for costs and apparelTags.

I changed item quality and price ranges and added soldier appareal tag to elite mercenaries which should contain power armor but they still spawn with shitty quality gear and parkas. No power armor. I don't know what i should do now so help would be great.

As i see it there is no enemy out there that wears power armor or has gear over superior quality. I tried modding it myself and found that there are price ranges put for armor and weapon spawning and that seems to be the reason why they can never spawn with power armor. I tried changing these values but it changed nothing. So i am asking experienced modders out there to take a look at it. It should be quite easy to do really but i just couldn't pull it off. If you could also make it so enemies can rarely spawn with power armor in Ice cap maps that would be great. Every enemy seems to be spawning with parka. I mean yeah thats how it should be since they need the cold protection but i want atleast some of the elite units to have power armor instead of their parka which should give them enough cold protection.

Here is another really good tip for you. When solar flare happens if you have a big base or farm like myne you won't have time to set up campfires. For example mine needs about 50 camfires set to be heated so yeah... So what i found really usefull is to have a fire room seperated atleast 2 blocks from anything flammable. You place a 10 square long wooden wall in there and light it from one end when the solar flare starts. It burns towards the other end of the wall. I keep 3 walls like this so if the solar flare doesn't end when the fire consumes the first row i light the second and if that doesn't cut it i light the third one. I have never seen solar flare lasting longer than before the third wall gets consumed by fire.

Your theory as to if it might be because you are on ice cap is not that far off. But if I remember correctly it's the silver that
Mostly determines how big the raid will be so try spamming silver (50000 at least) and then report back!

Are you sure you are getting enemies with power armor? I checked the files and this is given range for appareal price for Elite mercenaries and Pirate Boss

<apparelMoney>
      <min>2500</min>
      <max>4200</max>

So 4200 silver is the max price their total appareal can cost and only under normal quality power hellmets cut this price. Now that i think about it i have never gotten a power helmet over normal quality from pirates either so this must be true. If you look at the power armor tho even the awfull ones pass 4200 silver price range so this must mean that even the elite enemies can't have any kind of power armor...

Just gotta have to change the price range i guess.. I want more powerfull enemies with good armor and be able to scavange them so...

wow. That is really impressive, i notice you have fourteen thousand human flesh. What's up with that?

Have about 50 warg pets and they gotta eat :) I use them in seiges and ship events. They are quite usefull at breaking trough and quite cold resistant too. Besides its better than burning all those poor tribals and pirates who stumbled upon my killbox :) On top of that i make coats out of their skins and get some extra cash out of it :) Nothing is wasted in this colony these are hard times :)

They should have, but it depends on your colony. Obviously if you have a weak colony they might not even show up with extreme difficulty.

Is this powerfull enough for you :-\ I got bored and even tried spawning every kind of enemy there is but still none of them had power armor. Is it because i am in Ice cap map that they always get spawned with parkas? That is just so bad tho... Besides parkas having more cold protection than power armor also is not how its supposed to be if you ask me... My guy in bought power armor is freezing at -100C while wool parka covers for like -160C

Well here is my mountain shelter Anchorage. Located in the coldest of the coldest location i could find with -95C avarage winter temps. I have seen it reach -120C and my centrall heating system was struggling with that kind of temp. In this pic there is a toxic fallout going on and its -93C. Just your avarage day here :)

Just as the title says, i get raider and pirate attacks but all i see is enemies with dusters or parkas wearing power armor helmet only. I must have killed 3000 enemies by now and got like 200 power armor helmet but not even 1 power armor. So is this normal?

Here is my mountain base where outdoor temps reaches -120C :) Right now there is a toxic fallout going on and its -93C just your avarage day here :) Base is centrall heated and works with a huge energy system. Even with all these energy systems as you can see i am loosing power and my batteries are getting drained... Trying to build more ship reactors since at winter for 6 months there is no sun so all those solar panels are useless and wind is very unreliable... Heating the whole base at -100C temps is a real energy siphon.

You can never open mountainhead roof. You either find gaps in the mountain and make it bigger using no roof zone or use dev console to destroy the roof. Alternatively you can remove the fog from the map at the start using dev console and see every gap in a mountain and plan your base from there.

General Discussion / Re: Fu** You phoebe chillax

I am playing on Phoebe extreme in a -95c winter ice sheet and i must say it is not easy at all... She just sent a ship part while a volcanic winter was going on and outside temprature was about -120c. I couldn't send people in power armor since even in that they were freezing to death so i mortared it and about 30 centipides with 25 scythers came out... Yeahhhhh.... Then she starts a solar flare on top of it and all my crops die and my guys are freezing in their legendary devlistrand parkas at -125c while going crazy from the psychic ship... Yup its CHILLAX allright PHOEBE so CHILLAX :)

I just got so sick of micromanaging 20 colonists clothes and having to check how tethered they are or what they are wearing one by one, it was just too much... I made it so clothes don't have condition and now i am free of the hell called micromanaging... And you know what? It doesn't feel unbalanced at all... Every good clothing is still so rare and when i find some atleast i get to keep it forever... And ı modded my game so wearing armor actually matters now. I gave more protection to headpieces since hell, chest armor was giving better protection... Head is the most protected location in every modern army why would it not be like that in the future too? I mean seriously getting shot with a low tech uzi from head in a high tech power armor helmet and having retard colonists around was really not working for me at all... I don't like killboxes so that is why i kind of got the armor beefed up since it is impossible to go against 30 centipides without a killbox if i don't have beefed up armor.

I dont think geyser positions are part of the seed, seeds just contain the basic information of the world map, those lesser important information like the geyser, hidden treasures and many small details isnt there.

I tried with a friend actually. We started at the same coordinates with same seed and the map was the same also.

how many geysers on your map ? having 2 in a base is difficult, and u can have 2 in your garden ? the difficult part playing on ice sheet is at the beginning, once you survive pass the 1st month, technically you can win the game easily, when you can build a ship reactor, food should no longer your problem.
I don't know if i am lucky or not but geysers are plenty on my map. I have 12 geysers on the map with 2 of them being 25 blocks near each other and another 2 being atleast 75 blocks from the ones that are really close. So garden with 2 geysers at the most SW corner of base and the living quarters branching towards 75 blocks NE with 2 geysers heating making it 4 total geysers in base. Can give you the map seed and coordinates but i warn you its avarage temp at winter is -95.1c and at winter temps can hit -120c really. Quite hard to start with had to restart a couple of times.
