I played this mod up to the point where (i think) i've explored all of the current content. great mod, needs a lot of bugfixes but has lots of potential.

Bayonets. Or maybe being able to hold a small melee weapon (shiv/knife/club) alongside your gun. Or even being able to smack raiders with the butt of your Lee-Enfield.

It's very plausible this has been suggested, but fitting in with the theme of how many genetically modified things are in this game, (Wargs, Boomalopes, Boomrats, Devilstrand, Alphabeavers) I propose a genetically modified wood source which I've dubbed Megabamboo.
Pros:
Grows in a day
Cons:
Very low wood yield to make up for the grow speed
Spreads like wildfire: Can take over your entire map
Or we could add an incident. Megabamboo! Think the opposite of alphabeavers.

Stories / Rimworld succession colony

The Dwarf Fortress community does succession fortresses, and I thought Rimworld should do one too. So i'm going to organize one.
If you don't know what a succession colony is, it's where one person plays on a colony for a specific amount of time (let's say, 1 year) and takes screenshots and documents the whole thing for other people to read. Then after the year is over the save file for the colony is handed to someone else who does the same thing until a common goal is reached.
Rules:
1. You have 48 hours to get through 1 year. 1 year at x3 speed is 2 hours of playtime, so I don't think this will be an issue.
2. Stick to the common goal.
3. Refrain from loading saves to bypass incidents.
4. Don't change the storyteller or difficulty.
5. No killboxes :^)
Goal:
Send 50 people into space in the same ship.
Other Details:
We'll have 5 open slots to trade the save between.
We'll probably move to stories once this is done being organized.
Discussion and a public download of the save will be on a new thread where the colony's story will be located as well.
I'd like to use five mods. Suggest more!

Ladies and gentlemen, I have found the number one way of taking out mineshaft-inhabiting bugs with no citizen casualties.
Use coolers to freeze an enclosed shaft so that the bug hives are destroyed.
No hives = No jelly = No bugs

I just got my first siege, and I think it'd be an awfully FUN addition if colonists would be scared out of their minds while the base is being shelled. That's all.
