Also modded and Vanilla are huge differences in performance I find. All it takes is one bad mod to bring the game to a halt. So 50+ very well optimized mods will also slow it down a lot. Just what I noticed.

Very nice Xave! Thanks. I'm going to take the coldest you found and update the forum now. I'm going to put unconfirmed in red text as I don't have time to confirm this now. But I trust you. And you did not make any mistakes with the last post of yours. So for now I will treat your information as correct. I will manually check and confirm it over then next 48 hours likely. And I'm glad to see seeds can still get as cold as previous seeds it seems. I am now motivated to do my own searches. So I will likely be doing some searching soon.

Also going to confirm if Royal DLC uses different seeds or not compared to just 1.1. Likely the answer will be no! But I need to see for myself.

So my to do list is...
1. Update this forum with Xave. *Done*
2. Confirm Xave's Finds. *Done*
3. Confirm if these work in Regular VS Royal.  *Done* Note: Same Seeds for 1.1 with or without Royal DLC.
4. Do my own searches. *Done* But more to come.

Oh and Xave for Mountainous there is actually one slightly colder -86.6 VS the -86.4 you posted. I'm going to use it for Mountainous but I'm still crediting you since it's your seed and right near the others. 75.35N 60.60W

Steam is annoying for this problem. Can you roll back the mods to 1.0? Like some mods have previous versions right?
I own this game on steam. But I loath steam for it's auto updates. I mostly play Rimworld 99% of the time from the DMR Free Version bought directly from Ludeon. The mods and game don't automatically update. And when new versions come out. You can play any version you have ever downloaded forever. I still play some A13 worlds alongside 1.0 and 1.1 etc. 

Now it's probably to late for you to go get the non-steam version since your game is already updated. If you cannot get the same mods on Steam back to 1.0. Than if you find the mods on the Ludeon Mod Forum. You can maybe manually download and install them and still play  1.0 game after reverting steam version to 1.0.

Well it seems as the world turns and Tynan updates Rimworld. Once again our precious Seeds from 1.0 are null and void. Rimworld 1.1-1.3 will need new seeds. So here is the new forum. I have been making these forums since A13/A14 wow. Not every update has changed the seeds but this is at least the third time now. If your new the purpose of this forum is to find the hottest or coldest possible seeds for various types of Biomes. Because some of us are sadists who enjoy the challenge or just think it's hilarious to lose our entire colony in two minutes to frost bite. So please post your record Hottest/Coldest Seeds!

Previous Hottest and Coldest Seeds from 1.0 do not work in 1.1 or beyond.

Xave if those are correct I think they are the record coldest. Later tonight when I have time I will likely update the main page of the forum. If I remember. Regardless I will get around to it soon. Thanks.

-BIG UPDATE-
Well everyone it looks like 1.1 may have changed seeds and how the temperature works. I think for 1.1 we need to start fresh. Either Tynan bumped the temps up or balanced it or these seeds are all invalid. Either way these seeds don't work in 1.1. But I believe we may no longer encounter seeds as cold as the legacy 1.0 seeds etc. Since I have had a hard time finding seeds as cold now in 1.1 I only did four seed checks. But I checked Xave seed and some of the records above that I posted and validated before and they don't work now. This means a new forum will need to be opened. I have less enthusiasm to search right now. I'm happy with 1.0 and plan to play for ages on 1.0. So if you still have 1.0 records to post please still do. I will still work on this forum. But I think I need to at least make a 1.1 forum. So people can post. But since I have less enthusiasm to keep up with it. I may not update it as often. But who knows.

I am loading 1.0 right now to see if Xave is correct and I will update this forum shortly.

Confirmed that 1.1 will need a new set of seeds. Also confirmed Xave is correct. I will be updating the data soon for main page. Good job Xave you now have the record for coldest for sure.

Wow... 4myGod! Confirmed your coldest seed is true by checking in game and I found the cords and posted them. Your now on record for the lowest temp vanilla landing site for 1.0. That I know of? And if anyone else knows differently please let me know. Even if it's not your seed please post it and share your source if you know. Same for hottest etc.

This is awesome I looked hard for a few weeks for a new coldest seed back around 29-10-2018 and found none. So this is the first new find since than. Now I know you posted this a little bit ago so sorry I was slow to coming here and finding this and confirming and updating. So even if you don't see see any updates in the main post read the replies in this forum and people may have posted information that I have not gotten around too updating yet. It's updated now. 

Here is the grandfathered previous coldest seed. I'm updating both of my main posts so this seed won't be list anywhere else by me in this thread other than in this message right here. As it's no longer needed. But since this seed was listed here for so long and it may have featured in other peoples games. I don't feel like removing it completely from this thread.

Some nice finds 4myGod. I'm going to check out both seeds the first one I don't think breaks any of the records to be updated in my main post. But it's still great to keep track of really cold seeds like you pointed out. And we need variety. The second one you posted seems interesting I'm curious what it's MIN/MAX temps are too. I'm going to look up that seed in the next 24 hours if I remember and since it does have the coldest average temp it will likely end up updated in my main post.

Unless a mod messes with how Seeds work or World Gen works or directly change the temperature somehow. Than no mods will not change the possibilities of the temperature or RNG. I use a mod pack of over 70 mods and I get the same Seed results as no mods. But if you find a mod that changes the temperatures in a weird way without it being obvious that it does. Let me know. I will leave a special clear permanent note in the main post of any wacky mods that change this sort of thing without being obvious.

Remember when trying to find these coldest or hottest seeds. Not only do you need the correct world size 100%. And Correct Seed. You also need to change the temp sliders to the coldest or hottest depending on what your looking for. If your doing all that and still can't find one of these seeds. Please let me know. I can't promise to look into it right away. But when I see your post I will double check. I could always have made a mistake somewhere. But I try to double check before posting.

Are you talking about finding new locations or the existing ones? In either case no Vanilla feature allows you to search. So yeah once you learn how the cords work it's not to difficult to find any location if you know the seed and Cords etc. However looking for locations for the first time was REALLY tricky and time consuming. About three weeks ago I found this mod. https://ludeon.com/forums/index.php?topic=34592.0;topicseen

It does allow you to search and find various cords and has a filter. I'm not a pro with the mod. And I only use it to help find seeds to post here. And it works for that. It may help you locate one of these seeds if your having trouble finding them.


P.S
I searched for about 3+ hours for Hot and Cold seeds and could not beat any of the existing records. I have not given up yet. But it is getting harder.

Not sure how you got to that conclusion. There are only 3 archotech parts; the eye, arm and leg. They function as sort of a rare non-craftable luxury tier of bionic parts in the mod. The advanced tier consists of more parts, which are craftable, and they're pretty much there for players who want to create really powerful colonists in the late game. I don't see anything wrong with that.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I feel like two workbenches is pretty reasonable for 1 mod. It also makes sense to have a couple of benches dedicated to bionic and synthetic parts, and not just slap everything onto 1 vanilla bench. And I'm not sure if you know this already, but all the simple prosthetic parts are made at the machining table.

Yeah Rah thank you. Don't follow these suggestions please. In my opinion would be a downgrade to the mod. I like it perfect the way it is.

I want to give feedback. I did not download or use the embrasures because I don't like those in Rimworld. Still great they exist though. But for weeks I have been using this mod along aside Onmi-Core Drill, Industrialization, Cuposalloys,Quarry and even some other mods that all add materials or ways to get them. And Tianium+ feels like a balanced and nice fit. So you have a great mod here and I recommend it. No bugs that I could find. Even the turret that comes with the mod is pretty overall balanced and good. Thanks Himkey!
