Yes I did both of those things?  Hmmm....  I am using a couple mods I don't think they would cause this problem but you never know. I will give it a test on a fresh non-modded game to see if there is any difference sometime soon.

I`m not posting this in the Bug Forum because I am sure I am just doing something wrong or T.Vs have changed in how they work? I have a Mega Screen T.V  Placed Couches in the viewing area and no one has used it? Maybe I have to use chairs instead?  I don`t know what I am doing wrong?

Why is it important to keep tiles left and right clear. I have never had problems.

Here is a screenshot of my Hospital and Prison/Hospital Setup.  I should note I use a couple small mods. The only mod I think you may see here is the modular table mod which you can see in some bedrooms and in the prison. It's not used in my regular hospital rooms.

Now I understand and yes that would work. I also played a little more and found gear that easily survive temp of -90C or lower. I sent some of my scouts out to pickup Thrumbo horns of thrumbos who have froze to death. And just for fun I used Dev Console to make Volcanic Winder and Cold Snap at same time. Got lower then -120C and I don't even think it was the absolute coolest part of the year. But at that temperature I lost all my crops even with like 20+ heaters in the room. Which is not the end of the world because any sort of Solar Flare or power disruption also guarantees all crop loss for me.

Good advice... I knew about capture vs resue. But I don't understand your whole AC Units with -150?  How can you use that to freeze mech units? You would have to trap them in a room? Or do you use them for heaters for the other side? I just don't understand.

I have a question. I did a search of the forums and could not find an answer.

I'm wondering what clothing slots exist? Like to have the best set of clothing for cold weather for example. It seems some clothing replaces others
while some can be worn together. Can anyone explain the max amount of clothing items that can be worn at same time. Primarily interested in clothing slots that protect against weather. So I'm not sure if Armour vest even helps for that etc. Thanks.

Your pretty good if you can manage on these maps. I just started a new game yesterday 2 years into the play-though and I'm on the -71.1C average temp map which can reach below -100C. Its difficult because unless your in the warmest part of the year then 90% chance your wanderer joining will die for any events like that. So your even limited with colonists and it's harder to capture and rescue as well. Well I play on 325 x 325 which probably makes these maps even harder. Because more distance. For example if poison ship or even worse Psychic Ship spawn. Even if I have okay clothing I have 30% Hypothermia by the time colonists reach the ship. That's very bad because even if I turn around right away I'm at 60%. If I do combat with the ship it's game over. So you need to build a small shelter near the ship, then build fires inside. So you have little buildings all over the map for shelter which does not work to well.

In fact if it's -90 out I had a situation where you basically could not get across the map without passing from hypothermia. Escape pods, wanderer joining or those radio calls for help basically mean that your going to lose the colonist. Then all you need is one good raid that is able to reach your base or land on your base and I'm dead. But I cheat and save scum on these maps so I still survive.

Yeah I don't blame you. I tried it legit and the first issue is Power! Because you need a lot of heat! Making fire pits out of wood is simply not enough. It's really difficult.

I am sure some people can do it. The cold does have its positive perks, it does protect you from some threats but you don't have trees, animals are limited and hard to hunt in the cold, growing is almost impossible until your well setup. Most visitors die so trading is limited. I feel in the very least you must use Prepare Carefully, provide various warm clothing and extra resources with Points turned off so you can start with enough resources to build tons of batteries, solar panels, wiring, so you can make enough heaters. Large rooms like growing rooms for crops need like 10+ heaters!  Average rooms need 1-2 heater each even more so because they can fail and need repair.  Finally I feel like I would never survive long enough to get enough food grown.... Unless you use Dev Tools to complete all research projects so you can rush for Hydroponics & Comm Console for trading. You probably need to start with extra food too.  So yeah.... lol  Unless your doing a sort of cheat start which might work since you want all cannibals anyhow. Preparecarefully will be fun to do a 5-10 colonist start all cannibals....

P.S 
One last tip for anyone who does try a map like this. I do suggest Prepare Carefully or at least random rolling for COLD LOVER!  It's kind of needed!

Thank you again and yes it's seed 4fmy and I found Ave Temp -70.1C and I just started to look, will probably find colder. It turns out that forum was for A13 so of course it still works. And coldest I found now is -71.1C

Is it true that most Illness don't have a reason that you get them? They are sort of random but really cannot be completely negated?

To be honest it would be nice if most Illness where caught from doing something. Like having rotting food or bodies around, or maybe being to hot or to cold etc etc... Being around certain animals... that way you can avoid certain things and play in a way to minimize the illness. However I feel once it's tweaked a little more it won't be to bad. Right now it seems set a little to high in my opinion.

Since I commonly browse Mantis and the Official Rimworld Bug Forum. I have seen others report this or suggest something be done. And it seems it's being addressed. Of course in a future Alpha. I may post a link to the topic if I find it. I think the solution was something like bugs won't spawn unless there is a certain amount of Mountain tiles around it etc. However that may not be how it's addressed the Devs are working on something it seems.

I'm curious to know if anyone knows the coldest landing site they have ever found. Preferably for A13 if your able to post a Seed? Thanks... One of my current running games is on a map with the following temperatures.

Avg Temp -51.4C
Avg Temp (Jan) -77.1C
Avg Temp (Jul) -25.7C

OR

Avg Temp -60.6F
Avg Temp (Jan) -106.8F
Avg Temp (Jul) -14.3F

I want to find even colder!

I like playing of rough landing sites I will allow myself to cheat since it's very difficult. I won't cheat on regular maps. I also find it amusing watching most raids and visitor group freezing to death!  So if you know of any colder landing sites for A13 please post seed if you can.

P.S I love following the Devs progress in Mantis I find bugs and the process of eliminating them fascinating or what is deemed a bug or intended feature and the conversations on Mantis or the Bug Forum. I noticed how I'm sad that Tynan and Ison seem to be working on a way to prevent raiders or travelers from freezing to death as easily! Which is probably a needed change but I will forever keep a copy of A13 because it's fun the amount of corpses on my map is getting out of hand now.

I think this will be one of my first posts here. I visit here a lot though. To be honest I don't think this will be what your looking for! So I'm sorry lol. Because I deliberately picked the most difficult possible colony spawn that I saw! This is my Dev Tool Play though where I allowed myself to cheat because of the following!

Ave Temp -51.4C
Ave Temp (Jan) -77.1C
Ave Temp (Jul) -25.7C

Ave Temp -60.6F
Ave Temp (Jan) -106.8F
Ave Temp (Jul) -14.3F


This is the coldest map to date I have seen! Probably not the coldest that world gen can produce but close enough. You need to be hardcore or cheat to basically do well here. Even without coldnap I have seen -80C or lower for days on end here.

And finally I don't know the exact information you need for the SEED?

World Size: Largest Possible
World Seed: "cold"
Map Location Debug Coords: (202, 288)
53.87 E 76.80 N
Map Name is Ras Albaldah but I don't think you need that part.
I think I picked Map Size 300 x 300 or at most I picked 325 x 325 for the Map Location I mean.

The Whole North of the map is all a solid mass of mountain. I may post a screenshot but I will need to check how to do that.  I can't upload picture it's to large. Unless I upload it elsewhere and provide link. I will re-read forum rules to see if I am allowed to do that.
