General Discussion / Re: Hunting Strategy

I can't stand the inefficiency of some pawns. Specifically when they walk across the map shoot once then decide it's bed time. Drives me nuts.

I use a previously mentioned method where I draft everyone that is able to haul (and not doing essential jobs) and manually manage my hunting party. I target predators first as they can be devastating to an unsuspecting pawn.

Also in the picture it looks like trees are blocking your turbines lowering production. Click on them and they will tell you if they are blocked.

Quoted for truth. Your problem here is trees are blocking your turbines, cutting their power outage. Trees will spawn occasionally so check often and keep them clear at all times. It helps to plant crops or build solar panels in the path of the turbines.

One or two solar panels help for when the wind is low as the power output depends on how much wind there is at the time.

As Morak said, click on the turbine. It will tell you if it is obstructed or not. It will also outline the area that you will need to keep clear.

I very often play with no turrets, traps, or mortars.

Occasionally a melee only run can be fun.

@Mike Dude, it's a comic. Can't you enjoy anything?

P.S. I did get a good chuckle out of this.

This system already exists.

I am the dictator that brutaly forces my pawns to work to exhaustion. Anyone who defies me gets thrown in jail forced to eat nutrient paste made from insect corpses or their dead colleagues.

The system is quite effective.

Have any grenades? Pretty sure they can be destroyed.

Dev Tools? Otherwise I do not think so.

What's wrong with turning them into bricks though? Even if you don't need them they are good to sell.

I think we should get a choice to accept him or not. I mean wtf he just joins, what if we dont want him?

Agreed ^

I think it's more of a balancing thing. Hydroponics yield an incredible amount when used properly. There have to be some downsides to avoid making them overpowered.

No. This is an idea that only enforces stereotypes.

Skill influences your ability to fight, not your body type or your gender. A black belt or other similarly trained person will whoop an untrained person regardless of age or stature.

Well said!

General Discussion / Re: Trading within own Colony

Once you have your two colonies set up, you could always create another caravan, send it to your second colony, drop off what you want and head home.

Why take away control when you can do this yourself already?

Can you not already temporarily settle a spot, cut down all trees, mine all the steel you see, whatever you want, packup and leave again?

what if your computer lacks the strength?

I understand where you're coming from. Not everyone is using the same hardware to play. But a "click to harvest everything" button seems too easy.
