General Discussion / Re: Just finished the game :)

Depends on the difficulty you're looking for. Arid Desert and Temperate Forest seem to be the easiest imo. The Jungle is easy too but there's much more diseases to deal with. Boreal Forest is a bit more difficult than temperate and then it's Extreme Desert > Frozen Tundra > Ice Sheet.

Each is different. If you're new to the game I would say pick one of the easier ones you havent played yet and work downwards.

Or you could always randomize your drop point until you find one that is acceptable to you.

General Discussion / Re: Cave VS Outside Bases?

I almost always make a cave base. Lately I have been trying a combination of the two as early game can be annoying with no good miner.

I love this mod. It adds much variety to the game. Keep up the good work!

O Negative has it right on. The Outfit Manager can be found in the 'Assign' tab. Be careful with this though, if you do not have an adequate source of clothing your colonists will drop their tattered clothes and walk around naked. Which in some cases is worse that the otherwise mood debuff.

Ttaken from Rimworld Wiki:

QuoteVolcanic Winter
A distant supervolcano has erupted and begun spewing millions of cubic kilometers of ash into the atmosphere. Ash in the atmosphere will obscure the sun. Temperatures will drop and plants will suffer for lack of sunlight.

This is most likely the cause. It's possible your animals ate all available food and none grew to take it's place.
You are able to Harvest or 'Eat' plants that aren't 100% grown but they yield less overall.

A similar topic was discussed in July. This is what they eventually settled on:

Tynan removed that ability many alphas ago so people couldn't exploit late game raids by taking bionics off dead raiders.

As I understand, this option destroyed the late game economy.

Thank you Top_hat_tomato, this is quite helpful.

Ideas / Re: Work Priorities
October 14, 2016, 06:11:53 PM
I agree.
Or at least give us the option for 9 work priorities (or more) rather than just 4.

Fluffy's Work Mod did just this, allowing us to change the priorities and adding 9 levels of priorities as well but unfortunately he has not yet updated it for A15.

I believe the pawns prioritize construction projects that are closest to them (correct me if I am wrong). So it makes sense that they will build the wall at the front of the 1x tile first.

it's a pawn. pawns are quite stupid.

Maybe I am missing something but I cannot find the download for the personal shields.

I recently shot down an innocent Thrumbo for its horn, leather, and meat. After downing it I captured it and set my doctor to heal the gentle beast for Medicine training, as I usually do.
Shortly thereafter I received a message that it had Bonded with my doctor and I noticed it appears in my animal list as a Tamed Animal.
Is this normal? Never before have I had an animal tamed while doctoring, let alone been able to tame a Thrumbo.

I believe you are able to cremate bones.

What you can do is lower the priority of the stockpile for your "junk" (or raise the priority in the good ones) so your pawns will prioritize the good stockpiles first.

Make sure the 'allow rotten' is unchecked in your good stockpiles so if the meat happens to go bad it will be hauled to the junk pile.

It is not possible in the vanilla game but this mod by UnlimitedHugs works exactly as you are describing.
