ILLIGAL HOLD
     We thought it was just another raid. My father took his sniper rifle and went North-West on snow towards a group of nine raiders from Confederation of Cogahinna. Several shots broke the silence of the winter forest and then we heard some return fire. Soon he was back wounded and very confused. His side was bleeding, but he changed his sniper rifle to a shotgun and stayed with us at the defensive line waiting for their attack. "There is a kid", - he said leaning on sandbags. His mouth was steaming from cold: it was -32. "What kid?" - we asked him. We thought he was delusional. "There is a little girl among the raiders", - he said. "Little girl?" - we could not understand what he is talking about.
     Soon they showed up from the forest and two of them rushed to attack directly under heavy fire of our turrets. Soon they fell in the snow coloring it with their steaming blood. Others took their positions out of the turret's range in the forest. The shooting began. And soon indeed we saw a little girl running right at us with a cute little face distorted by rage. She was screaming very loud, probably to suppress her own fear and for a moment we were taken aback. It seemed like an invisible guardian angel was protecting her from a hail of bullets raining out of all our barrels. By some miracle, she reached to very sandbags behind which we were taking cover, and finally penetrated by a mini-turret gun bullet, she fell into the snow.
     After the battle was over we captured her along with another young woman and my mom, after healing her wound, with tears said: "I can't even think about it! What if she would be killed? We have to adopt this poor kid..." "We will adopt her, my dear, - Aunt Miriam gave her a hug. - She will find her home here."
     My father's left kidney was destroyed and he lost a lot of blood. How this little girl ended up in a Raiders team? Did they use her on purpose? All those questions we are going to ask her when she wakes up.

BIRTHDAY PRESENT
     Today Aunt Miriam had her 65th birthday. But there was no joy on her old face: she learned that she got Alzheimer. I wrote a poem about it:

Unfair life
prepared for you a present.
Your brain alive
but it becomes a desert,
where rivers
of the memory dry out
and packs of beavers
gnawing thoughts out loud.

     Of course, I did not read it to her. It is very sad news and I am trying to give her all the support I can. But nothing seems to help so far...

MARIA
     Maria was born yesterday. Poor baby, she will never know what is it like to have a normal family... I am sleeping in the children's room and watching the babies. My mom needs some rest to recover after giving birth. Fall is almost here.

FAMILY COUNCIL

     Early morning we got together for our Family Council. Aunt Miriam said to my mom and dad: "You are grown people my dears and you can do with your lives whatever you want, but the Family Clan should not suffer from your whims. Therefore I suggest you control your emotions and keep doing everything for the good of our small community. I hope Julio will help Nrda with their kids?" "Of course, - my father replied, - I love them." "But you do not love me, right?" - asked my mom with notes of anger in her voice. "Calm down, my dear", - quietly said Aunt Miriam. "You always support him no matter what he does. - My mom turned to her. - This is because he is your brother! I am all alone here!" She almost started to cry. "You are not alone, mom, - I said. - You know, I love you." "And I am pregnant again", - she said. "Oh, I did now know that", - my father looked surprised. "Hack off", - my mom said. "Watch your language, my dear, - said Aunt Miriam, - Raylan is here!" "Raylan is a big boy already, - my mom said. - He is 22."
     It was not a lot of fun to be there. Finally, everyone agreed to make all the important decisions together by vote. And non-family members living with us (Ana and Mitsuya) can stay for now as we have a lot of work. But no one else is going to be accepted unless there is a very special case.
     Also, everyone decided to send me and Ana on a mining trip to get some Components as we run out of them and stuck with several projects. We are going to leave in a few days when it gets a little warmer.

DIVORCE

     On the 22nd day of the Volcanic Winter, it finally got into our hearts covering them with ashes of darkness: my parents decided to divorce. А swarm of thoughts circled my head: we are not one family anymore? who is the head of our colony now? what about our rules not to accept strangers?
     I went to Aunt Miriam for support and we had a deep talk about how unpredictable and cruel this life is. I feel so sorry for my tiny brothers! They may never know what is it like to live in a normal family. Aunt Miriam said we need to gather for Family Council and decide how are we going to live now. I feel terrible, it seems like the worst day of my life.

You can actually see these chances if you turn on development mode. There would be new button on social window with pulldown where you should select "interaction chances". There you can see chances to chat, deep talk, slight and insult. There would be some rarer interaction chances like compliment for nice persons, chances to woo for love interests and chances for marriage proposal and break up for couples. You can also infer come clues from this button menu about how likely for given people to fall in love is and how stable thier marriage would be depending on attractability and compatibility between them. If you try and like this hidden data welcome to the dark side!

Also mood falling for "no reason" is actually good reasons (like "Deep conversation, +15, 24 hours) expiring.

It just means that they gained some positive social relationship with each other through associating with each other, but those positive gains were temporary (to keep them, they'd have to continually talk and spend time with each other), and likely they just...ran out.

Yes, I did not know I had to pay attention to that...

I play with Children and Pregnancy mod. Julio and Narda just had their second baby. Andy is 1 y.o. and Luke is one quadrum old. Everything goes great. Julio's opinion of Narda is +77. Narda's opinion of Julio is +79. And it is 20:00.


In two hours Julio asked Narda for a break. His opinion of Narda is +32. Her opinion of Julio is -37. His opinion within two hours drops from +77 to +32 (45 points) without any visible cause and he divorce his wife leaving her with two babies on her hands.


I understand that I could miss something, but what it possibly could be? And is there a number like if the opinion of a spouse drops below +35 he or she asks for a break? Or is it random? Anyway, since it is not possible to keep track of everything wouldn't it be nice to indicate the cause of the divorce in the breakup message? Just for the record

There is a high possibility he will because he just divorced his lovely wife Narda with two infants on her hands. I am in shock! Everything was so nice between them and I have no idea what was the cause of that.

QUESTION TO EVERYONE: What do you guys suggest me to do? I can load a save hoping that it will not happen again, or I can continue as is (although I do not know how to keep this falling apart Family Clan in that case). Any feedback will be appreciated!

     My mom is a hero! She just delivered another baby and she named him Luke. Andy is three quadrums old and here we go, we got another brother. Andy is getting annoying sometimes when he does not have enough attention, but since we allowed him to visit our dining room, he gets on a stool and stops crying; he is "relaxing socially" like a big boy.
     Another colonist was allowed to join our colony with a hope me to get engaged. Her name is Mitsuya and she is 30 years old. She seems too old for me. With Ana we are ok and she even did an attempt to romance me, but I didn't feel like responding. She is too young, only 16 now. Seeing that nothing works out for me so far, my parents started to build a guesthouse, hoping through hospitality [mod] to find me a bride. They are restless!
     We entered Volcanic Winter seven days ago. Our Labradors have a few puppies. We also started a small chicken farm. Time goes slowly...

i used to have babies suffering joy penalties on socializing because they have a restricted area that they can only go to.. i fixed it by building any chair and table, and that would make them start socializing...

It does not make a lot of sense, but it worked! The baby was allowed to visit the dinning area with a table. He got on the wooden stool and relaxing socially gained 100% recreation in seconds. While playing with him was giving him maximum of 25%. Good to know, but still I hope this great mod will be improved more and more... Thank you!

So, I don't know how is it possible, but for some reason babies in my colony still suffer from joy penalties on socializing. Can you help me out?

The same thing I downloaded this mode a few days ago. It would be very nice if a colonist could come to a baby and play with him any time (when he is crawling and crying). Right now there is no option to do that - only when the baby is in his crib. AND EVEN BETTER: why the colonists assigned to childcare do not do that automatically? The mod is great, but if this is not going to be fixed, it will be too annoying to play it.

Hi all! There is probably an answer to my question in this thread, but it is over 100 pages to look through. Maybe someone can give me an answer (or a link to it): how dating and new romance with the possibility of marriage with visitors happen in this mod? Thank you!

     Now I have a baby brother Andy! He is 13 hours old! That is exciting news - I always wanted to have a brother...
     This winter was much easier than the first one. Our hydroponics greenhouse gives us enough food although it is not even running at the full extent. We had several raids, but nothing serious so far.
     With Ana, we are working together a lot on different projects and it seems like we are becoming friends again. But only friends... if my parents want me to get married, they have to let another girl inside our base...

     I'll have a brother! Or sister... My mom is pregnant! Not the best time, of course, because we lost so much time rescuing Ana, and we are not prepared good enough for the winter. I hope we will finish our hydroponics greenhouse on time!
