You've never played the game before, and on your first try you got everyone launched into space?

Man, do i feel like a dunce now.

As to specifics:

1. I think the micromanage is what makes this game what it is. There are some aspects that I would like to micro manage MORE.

1. The centipedes with mini-guns showing up and killing the cat 5 minutes after you unpause the game at the start is a bit annoying.

1. Shooting accuracy is annoying. I had an incapacitated centipede last night. Walked one person right up next to it and they still couldn't hit it.

Just for the sake of completeness, incase some other poor newb stumbles across this thread.

To move a drafted colonist, right click.

that one took me far too long to figure out :-P

I'm getting my butt kicked during raids.

When I get attacked I click the "Draft" button on my people. Then they just stand there. I can click on the weapon they have armed, and click on a raider, but then they end up getting dead. Is there way to move them behind sandbags manually and shoot from there?

AI also likes to make your colonists hunt at maximum range (least accuracy), so you may want to move them closer manually.

how do you move them closer manually?

Thanks. I'll check around youtube a bit more.

I found one for alpha 13 this morning. But, it is LONG ...

Might be better to figure out what I'm doing wrong and ask some specific questions. Took me a while, but i figure out how to use a stove last night. :)

General Discussion / New player, any tutorials?
April 21, 2016, 09:41:25 PM
I backed on Kickstarter but FINALLY had a chance to actually try the game. I'm enjoying it, but confused about how to do things ... There are a ton of options.

I'm slowly figuring some things out, but is there a good tutorial out there somewhere? I found a couple but they are for much older versions.

thanks
