You really shouldn't trust everything you read on the internet.
Modern M16 are great weapons, but the machinery is far more precise now then it was before.
If I want a simple assault rifle that will do the job in a away from the civilization world, I would easily go for the ak-47.
If we have precision and machinery to clean and repair weapons, I would go for a m416, Germany do the best weapons in the world.

I just fail to understand why would anyone make a m16 in the future, on a harsh planet like that, ak-47 should be the right pick.

My point it is that the movie is fantasy, so it is the game, I suggest you can mod your game if you don't agree, there are several physic breaking mechanics in this game, like chernofuel giving 40k of free energy and heaters that consumes 200w.
We really don't know 0,1% of the solar systems, so you can't say those are not possible, it maybe even happen because of old space stations on the planet.

Eclipses in this game is not always from the moon, maybe they should make this more clear.
There is a Vin Diesel movie, deadly eclipse on my language, where the eclipse happened rarely, but it lasted for several years. The planets in the system did that.
Solar flares doesn't hit the electronics directly, it is about the planet magnetic field, when it is static, electric works as expected, when it is not, there are too much fluctuating on the charge that it would destroy anything powered when it happens.
Those are theorist, the game agrees with then.

I remember fallout 2, we start with spears, throwing spears, knifes and etc.
The first firearms is the pipe rifle, single shot and not very effective.
Skipping the 10mm pistol, we get revolvers and new weapons design from the world war weapons, bolt action rifles, and low cadence automatic weapons.
Then we get today's weapons
Then we get today's weapons buffed, like the god like pancor jackhammer, a full auto.50 SNIPER RIFLE.
Then we get advanced laser weapons (we had simple ones some part) bazucas, heavy minigun, laser minigun, we even got a Gauss minigun in tactics!
The weapons in the game are the minimum necessary to make it work, a weapon mod is welcome, just pick one.

I also have a last request to make the game better, it is all about threads, make an overall in the game right now is impossible, but...
We all know that the biggest problem is the pathfinding and fires... Can't you like do groups of 4 pawn for each pathfinding make a new thread? Maybe the same for each X fires?

Taming muffalos, with a 30+ in swamp, I get a lot of money from milk, wool and selling the breeds, lost all chickens to a Frostbite, so muffalos is the money making I am using, also, perfect defense.

Also, why we need so much iron for heat conducts? A single window with no glass would do the same for inside! For outside the metal thing would be more useful.
Also, place that Window that is useful for Archers to fire on enemies, it is one of most downloaded mods!

I was thinking that too, why we dont have Windows?
But about passable I suggest they wouldn't be, because of several problems, like:
We should be able to do Windows with protection metal bars!
Also, we should be able to do small restroom Windows.
We are asking for sand as resource a long time now... Trenches, moats, palisades, dirt piles, low granite walls are also things we need as tribals.
Also Windows should break in storms, under fire and need replacements! Like component for machines.
Also 2 Windows side by side should do a big Window!
Passable break windows is not hard for AI, just give windows a good target for attackers, after turrets and pawns, and the rest will work nicely.
