A15 is feeling really good so far.  The extended brewing mechanic feels especially great.  What would be really nice is having a new limit instruction alongside "Do X times", "Do forever", "Do until you have X" called something like "Do until fermenting barrels are full", so far I've had to manually suspend and unsuspend the task whenever my barrels are full.  Of course, I may be missing something.

There is only one true mod hosting solution - The Nexus.

Agreed, they've got a lot of things right even if the site looks like the kind of nasty stuff I was writing in the 90's ;)  It's a shame Rimworld isn't supported in the desktop mod manager client.  I wonder how we make that happen.

I agree with you, my "simple but not in THE good way" was actually making the point regarding how it handles mods, not in how you use to subscribe to mods, this thread is about modders not players. Steam WS is VERY simplistic to the point of being a terrible way to distribute mods, if it had versioning it would be instantly a very good mechanism, this one feature would lead into players being able to get notifications that a new release is available and then they can pick when to update after reading the update through.

Steam WS is "just a bunch of files", that are replaced each time you update. Its not good. Ive been developing software for 15+ years, no way id pick this method for delivery of mods in my professional career. Steam WS caters for the lowest common denominator (people who dont understand programming) which is great, but its done at the cost of us more experienced programmers, which is not good.

Fair point, I'm also a developer and I know what you mean.  It'd be great if we had some kind of system similar to the KSP CKAN system https://github.com/KSP-CKAN/CKAN but that's probably a discussion for another thread!

its down to personal preference, nothing more. Steams workshop is very simplistic and not in the good way, it will break peoples games. Simply due to the way it handles updated workshop content. If CCL for example releases some code that fixes an issue but makes it not compatible with inplay saves it'll break em and we get a tonne of "you broke my game" posts. Outside of steam this is a user choice. simple.

I'd have to disagree with the first point.  I use the workshop for a large number of games and its simplicity is certainly a good thing.  I no longer have to worry about manually updating mods and if any prove incompatible then I simply disable them until the author (or myself via a pull request) can update them.  It makes for a much smoother experience for the player, in my experience at least, your mileage may of course vary.
