I must state that RimWorld is a "story generator" game, not a hard-core simulation.
That said, RimWorld really pushes hand-to-hand combat by nerfing almost all ranged combat, dropping enemies inside your base and having metre thick stone walls seemingly made of cheese.
And I am going to assume that a RimWorld tile is 1x1 metres.
The RimWorld 1.1.2598 mortar has forced miss radius of 13 metres, firing delay of 28+4 seconds and the HE bomb has blast radius of 2.9 metres (5x5 tiles). RimWorld mortar bombs are only useful as IED traps.
Real 81mm M252 mortar has rate of fire of 30 rounds per minute for 2 minutes (2 second firing delay) and blast radius of 20 metres. Guided 81mm mortar bombs are under development.

Upload the save and the logfile anyway. At the moment you're asking for guesses.
My best guess is that it has something to do with that trade caravan/visitors.

Looks like it's SimpleSidearms. [1.1.2565] Single beer can't be hauled
If updating the mod doesn't work, as a workaround I'd try disallowing beer as a sidearm and manually hauling the beer.
For future reference, use the big green friendly "Share logs" button.
On second thought, the save could be useful for figuring this bug out.

Sounds like you were screwed by the steam cloud sync. I know this is a bit late, but this may or may not help.

Available recreation types: solitariy, social, horseshoe pin.
Pawn bored of solitary and horseshoe pin.
Two tables, two chairs, none set as a gathering spot.
Enable "gathering spot" at table.
Draft and undraft pawn - pawn beelines to table to do social recreation.
Tables claimed from ruins perhaps? Those are not set as gathering spots by default.

Social recreation shouldn't show as an available recreation type when it actually isn't.

Available recreation types: solitary, social, horseshoe pin.
You have one horseshoe pin, and they are bored of that.
You have no tables+chairs or campfires to do social interaction.
Build a campfire, table+chair or chesstable+chair and they beeline for it.
Billiards table is same type as horseshoe pin (dexterity play) so they are bored of it, too.

There is something fishy going on, though. Tried the save on 1.1.2589, no mods or Royalty.
-If you set the colonists to recreation at all hours, eventually the first wakes up, eats and does a little bit of solitary relaxation, then goes to work. The two others wake up, eat and go work their asses off at 0% joy untill the sunset, then they go watch it.
-If you set the colonists to recreation at all hours, and wake them up by drafting, they go have solitary relaxation till they are fully satisfied.
-If you set the colonists to recreation at all hours, advance time by fast ecology and single-tick stepping to 20h, and let the colonists wake up on their own, they will all eat and do solitary relaxation (stargazing) till they get bored of it.
-If you set the colonists to recreation at all hours, advance time by fast ecology and single-tick stepping to 10h, even the first pawn to wake up skips joy and goes straight to work till 21h, then goes stargazing.
-If you reset the pawns' Need_Joy tolerances and leave everything as-is, they will go play horseshoes or cloudwatching or for a walk if time of day is before 10h. During 10h something changes, and they will never do solitary relaxation during 11h - 20h, but will play horseshoes. The weather remains clear. During 21h stargazing and going for a walk become possible again.

For some reason they don't do solitary relaxation during daytime.

Also social interaction is listed as an available recreation type when it isn't really available.

You should check if it is reproducible without mods. And then post the save.
You are asking the devs to fix something without a test case, with unknown conditions apart from 250k wealth and 11 colonists, unknown game version and unknown mods of unknown versions.

I guess you're playing fullscreen because you say it is distorted.
I use Linux Mint 19.3 Xfce and RimWorld 1.1.2579 in windowed mode.
I just grab the window border and stretch the resolution to whatever I want. I just tried and made it 5198x2549, which is much larger than my monitor resolution. It still runs fine.
Have you tried editing the Prefs.xml to change the resolution? Does it work in windowed mode for you?
