Tools / Re: [Tool] (Alpha 14-15) Simple Save Editor

(continued from previous post)
I manually edited the skills and injuries to the save file using Notepad++ and got the results to my liking.

I suspect the drug interaction effects, for example, 'DrugTolerance' and 'DrugAddiction' which was showing up in the "injuries" section of the Save Editor is what was throwing the Null Reference Exception style error.  There is no confirmation as to whether this is what's actually happening because I haven't gone through the editor's source since I am extremely rusty when it comes to coding.

Don't worry about my specific issue since I resolved it.  However, it would be awesome if I didn't have to edit the save file manually.  In any case, thanks in advance for any continued efforts on the editor.

Thanks for addressing the "Special" and "Tribal" tag in the backstory issue.  I was using version 0.42 previous to the backstory editing feature to avoid it.  Thanks again for the great work, DragonLord.  Regarding the interface, I think it's fine the way it is.

However, I'm running into a save error on both v0.42 and v0.54.

Error message:  "Failed saving RimWorld Save file.  Reason: Object reference not set to instance of object"

This happens regardless if I edit any values.  I don't know if this is producing any error logs since nothing is happening in-game.  I tried to attach the save file, but the forums rejected my post, probably due to their upload file size limit.  I'll upload to a third party site if you need it.

This error is particularly annoying since I just bought 2 slaves using a decent bit of silver, assuming I could tweak their stats.  But now, I can't even save the unedited save file using the Save Editor.  I know it was a bad assumption, but it was based upon the fact that I had no problems with v0.42 for months.  Something with the new saves, perhaps the drug effects, is screwing it up but it won't save even if I delete the drug tolerances and affects.

A14? any ideas?

Killface's fork/update of this mod works for A14:

Thanks for the tool; appreciate your work...
However, there's a small problem with the addition of the backstory editor:
Any pawn with a (special) or (tribal) backstory tag will not save correctly.  The editor displays the correct backstories, but when you reload the save, the backstory is blank in the editor, and when you load the save in-game, it assigns a different (seemingly random) backstory than what was displayed.  This happened regardless if you changed the backstory or not.  (I was only fooling with the skills and injuries and wasn't trying to edit the backstory, but I found several pawn characters unable to do tasks they were previously able to do because of story limitations.)
