They could be a bit like chocolate in that regard. Also fits with the Firefly theme:

Hydroponics, the crematorium, and the advanced research bench (but not the basic bench) cannot be un/reinstalled like most production things can now.
Quote from: Wintersdark on July 08, 2018, 12:57:37 AMMaybe they should. At least with heavy clothing. Automatic or manual dressers are possible. There are mods for it. And people wouldn't have to use them if they think it's a waste of time.
Pawns don't take off their coats when they come inside, either.
Quote from: Oblitus on July 07, 2018, 06:21:54 PMThe CR used to be able to kill a bear reliably. The rich explorer starting with was a huge deal
All tests ended poorly for my pawn, since wolf not even once was neutralized before getting to melee range.
Quote from: Syrchalis on July 05, 2018, 01:25:22 PMAgreed. Wool was a bit OP before (at least in very hot or cold biomes where all you needed was a wool jacket), but it was one of the few things that encouraged you to keep animals. Sure tone it down a bit, but not this far

Quote from: Boston on July 04, 2018, 01:54:13 PMSo do lots of other sci-fi universes. It's the logical result of any setting based on colonization. The Honor Harrington universe has many levels of development. Core worlds, shell, protectorates, verge. Star Wars has similar concepts.
WH40k has "Frontier Worlds" just like Firefly has "border planets"

Rename ultratech medicine -> glitterworld medicine
Quote from: Injured Muffalo on June 27, 2018, 07:54:01 PMThat's taking things too literally though. It would be more interesting and complex world building if glitterworld medicine isn't restricted strictly to glitterworlds, but has such a great reputation for quality and/or advancement that most people associate it with only the most developed planets. Or that while it traditionally was only available there, it has since spread out a bit as other planets caught up in development.
He made the change because "the medicine didn't necessarily come from a glitterworld."
