Yes. This wasn't an issue in earlier versions where even serious wounds healed very fast. But recovery times are very noticeable now, even for relatively minor injuries.

Just a walled 11x11 patch of soil(preferably rich), sunlamp, 3-4 heaters
1-2 heaters is enough for one sunlamp even in boreal forest. 3-4 heaters is for 2 sunlamps


How much food you need to store depends on the number of colonists. It's also not necessarily a complete disaster if you run low. Even in winter there are a few animals to hunt and you can buy some food from traders if you get one.

Toxic fallout on colder biomes prevents almost all wood harvesting for the next 3 years. The chance to kill trees should be reduced.
I had one in boreal forest and there were plenty of trees left

There are times when you want full control over roofs. Especially during toxic fallout. Another application is too roof over an wood powered generator or a crematorium

When it was enough to keep wood outside, but roofed you could also build nice wood sheds.

The only thing giving Elvira happiness is building a limestone chessboard, which takes 803 work to complete (that seems pretty high for a chessboard, no?)
Building stone objects always takes a long time. Beds, doors, tables, joy objects. Use wood if you want it to go fast

Yeah, the meat is pretty horrible. I don't know why but the cubes from the large meat just stand out too much

I can live with the silver, but I agree that ingots would be the most logical choice

Components I can probably get used to, but for now it's a bit weird

The growing healroots are pretty nice

I was wondering if anyone knows a mod that adds something like animal skin beds, or something? Would be nice to have something between "sleep on ground" and "carpented bed and fluffy pillows".

It has plain wooden (but very bad) beds. Then you can cheaply research "comfortable beds" and use leathers

Add to that pirates usually having normal or better weapons and you don't really feel the need to go for your own weapon manufacture process at all.
I found it useful early on to make some more bolt action rifles. Raiders often only come with pistols at that point

Go ahead and play. There are still balancing changes made on the fly, but overall it works mostly fine

It would work with a small starter base maybe. But as noted not with a fully developed late-game base
