What happens if you build walls around them?
Will they free themself or starve to death?

Only problems would be the vanilla game has no way to replace limbs.

It does have bionics...

Another idea:
Force every non-colonist to have the jogger trait, speedy enemies are much tougher.  ;D

Considering the scope of the current game the AI is already pretty impressive.
I think the best solution at hand to make the game harder is to modify your scenario.

For example:
1. Start with a bunch of giant gold stutues, that should kickstart the "enemy-production" pretty fast.
2. Don't use weapons with high range, and change the global melee damage to 200%.
3. Play on a small map, less time to prep against raids and less room for kiting.
4. Build your base out in the open without any mountains in sight.
5. ...

The current game isn't easy, but after a while players figure ways out to beat it.
The trick is to handycap yourself just about enough to start losing colonists, but not to much to "ensure" a total wiped.

I personally love Randy...he actually let me get about 26 prisoners (to my 7 colonists) built up...then he let them rebel :)  The other ones will cheat you so you can't get up to that many people.  For a good 2-3 hours, I was playing Prison Architect and RimWorld at the same time :)

Once they start rebelling though, there isn't much you can do to keep them from repeating it.  Even after we managed to whittle them down to just one prisoner, he still tried to rebel constantly.  Next time they build up like that I'm starting an organ harvesting factory.  A lung, kidney, and heart add up to as much as a whole prisoner when you sell them.

You could always build your ginourmous prison out of stone and have a bunch of AC's ready to cook (or freeze) rebellious prisoners. :D

General Discussion / Re: Congrats to Tynan !

Well, he made a game that is fun based on it's gameplay mechanics, not on shiny AAA graphics

RimWorld can't get "to old" or "outdated" because the genre itself doesn't care about shit like that. :D

The only reason to release a game like RimWorld early on is to keep the lights on, but Tynan had more then enough money to polish the gameplay to the state it is in now... there was no good reason to rush into early access.

Meaning it paid off to wait longer. :)

Considering how many enemies are pirates i often wonder why they aren't as greedy as i am.
They attack, flee after the battle is halfway done, and the dead pirates/ raiders leave tons of good stuff behind. :D

I think some raids should change their modus oparandi from killing and the looting, to looting first and killing everything that opposes them.

Lets be honest: many colonies are far stronger then the appearing raiders in a simple battle, raiders just feed into the ever growing colony wealth.

Imagine raiders focusing on breaking tru to your stockpiles and retreating BEFORE your bionic ubersoldiers start kicking their asses.  :o

I just add a bunch of randomly fallen down metal stuff (steel, ship chunks etc) on my maps to increase the total amount of "harvestable" resources in the long run.
