Bugs / [A17] StoryWatcher_RampUp doesn't ramp up
September 02, 2017, 05:57:35 AM
A 1% increase after ~200 days and ~45 colonists just can't be right.

What happens:
Pawn A is jealous, and doesn't have the best bedroom assigned. Their mood thought shows "Jealous of Pawn B's bedroom". Assigning pawn A to that bedroom brings another mood thought, "Jealous of Pawn C's bedroom" continue until you've found the best bedroom.

What you expected to happen.
I'd expect the message to show the best bedroom, not a better bedroom. The current implementation causes some type of musical chairs with beds.

Repro steps:
Have multiple bedrooms with varying levels of impressiveness and assign them to different pawns. Assign the pawn with the Jealous trait the worst bedroom, and observe their thoughts. Try and assign them bedrooms as their thoughts change, and observe how many steps are required until they reach the best bedroom. At 20+ colonists this can easily take 5+ steps, depending on uniformity/variety of bedrooms.

What happens:
Ancient dangers can generate with a size that doesn't respect the roof support boundaries, with potentially deadly consequences when players attempt to remove a load-bearing wall.

What you expected to happen.
I expect Ancient Dangers to not break the laws of physics as RimWorld knows it, vaulted ceilings be damned.

Repro steps:
Generate a couple of ancient dangers, observe size.

What happens:
Colonist shearing/milking animals keep shearing/milking until successful. The Animal Yield seems to function as a success percentage, not a yield percentage.

What you expected to happen.
To get a reduced yield from shearing, not a dice roll on fail/success.

Repro steps:
Grab a no-skilled colonist half-blind one-armed and a milkable or shearable animal.
Observe that said animal remains at 100% milk after a milking, despite the "product failed" message. Subsequent successful tries will give full yield.

Bugs / [A17] Collection of text errors/typos
August 30, 2017, 11:30:51 AM
Jobstring for installing a prosthetic leg/arm refers to "prostethic" bodypart. (typo)

The megasloth (and its products) is referred to as a Megasloth. (incorrect capitalisation)

Isak  Haugen is called Isak  Haugen instead of Isak Haugen. (trailing space on first name)

Allows players to aim the Minigun wherever they want. No more building crafting spots or other painstaking micro, just a rain of bullets in whatever direction you point the gun at.

Downed colonists in doors become objects pawns can't pass through, but others can shoot through them. Hostile pawns that can only melee attack are not able to engage ranged units standing on the opposite side of a door with a downed colonist.

Repro steps:

0. Create an enclosed area with a door as its entrance.
1. Have a melee-only hostile. Manhunter, melee fighter, what have you.
2. Place multiple ranged units inside the room, and one colonist in the door.
3. Down the colonist in the door.
4. Observe how the melee-only hostile will not engage with the ranged units on the opposite side of the door, behind the downed colonist.

Upon contracting infection or gutworms, there's an option to remove the stomach.

The stomach is a vital organ.

Removing the stomach kills the patient.

Like other vital organs, stomachs should probably get the <dontSuggestAmputation>true</dontSuggestAmputation> XML tag.

Outdated / [A17] Elemental Boomalopes
June 02, 2017, 11:58:48 AM

Boomalopes that do more than go boom.

These special boomalopes all mastered one of the Elements of RimWorld: Smoke, Firefoam, Stun and EMP. Some of them go boom, some of them go zap. Others go poof!

Want to use boomalopes to your tactical advantage against mechanoids? You can. If you want, you can even use them to protect your base against fire! Let the boomies do the fighting for you--- but beware manhunter packs.

Devilstrand, Corn and Healroot now require at least 140% soil fertility.

Here's the thing. It's way too easy to dedicate massive tracks of land to a single cash crop. It's never really a choice of what to grow where when the answer is always "Just use Rich Soil". This mods limits your choices and makes you think. Do you grow Healroot to patch up injuries or grow Devilstrand and rely on its strong armor values? Is it worth it to enclose that far away patch of rich soil to grow some Devilstrand? Do you really need food that badly anyway?

Yes, it makes the game a bit harder. More challenging. I hope it makes the game more interesting for you as well.

Note that you can still make a Growing Zone with it on all soil types, but colonists will only sow it on Rich Soil or in Hydroponics.

Steam link here.

If that's what the dev console says, then I suppose I'll upload my savefile and output_log.

What happened:

Anteater was in bed, waiting for treatment. An error popped up.

How to repro:

Uhm. It specifically says it should never happen, and I don't quite know how it happened in the first place.

The attached auto-save may or may not repro - it was taken about a minute of dev speed before the error happened. I'll upload another savefile from during/just after the error in another post.

Haulers will haul more than the capacity (50) of the fueled stove to the fueled stove.

Had a pawn deliver 56 wood to a stove, and the other 6 wood disappeared.
Had another pawn deliver 52 wood to the stove, and the other 2 wood vanished.

Savefile attached: Combo is in the process of bringing 52 wood to an empty stove.

Last few Tribal starts have auto-generated very "modern" Crashlanded names, like "Dannebrog" and "Policeman's Cliff" for my Base and Faction instead of the more exotic sounding tribal names.

Glitterworld medicine has a base medical potency of 220%.

Stats_Basic_Special.xml declares the maximum medical potency to be 200%.

Played two years in the Extreme Desert now, have only had one wild animal spawn: the scripted mad rabbit.

Started a new colony on a different Extreme Desert map. No wild animals present, even after a year of playing.

Generated 5 more to check them out. No animals, not even the ice sheets are this barren.

Attached are 5 empty deserts for your convenience.

Still don't know why I can do both or what the difference between the two is.

Maybe they should not insist on wearing every layer of clothing if they're already suffering from heatstroke. I'm sure if I had dusters available they'd pick that over parkas, but that coat is all the apparel I have.

I released a prisoner, who then went berserk at the edge of the map. He fell unconscious due to starvation and somehow wound back up in a prisoner bed. Yet doctors wardens wouldn't autonomously feed him until I set the prisoner tab to chat and recruit again. Doctors will feed this prisoner when they fall unconscious.

When the prisoner is fully healed and back up and walking, wardens still can't interact/release the prisoner. Setting them back to chat & recruit also doesn't yield the option to chat with the prisoner, neither is it possible to strip them.
