Quote from: hiepbg on November 18, 2016, 08:11:04 AMNo negativity here now
Even the best software still has some bugs. Reporting bugs only make this mod greater more
There is no negativity here. Please do keep supporting it
Of course people should report bugs, but I have never seen so much reporting for one mod. I'm sure that's due to the complexity of it (Tynan even asked how it works). IMHO we should show more appreciation for the mods we like as well as report problems.
Quote from: Adamiks on November 18, 2016, 08:44:36 AMhaven't played since i decided to try modding, almost 2 months ago. But i do enjoy modding.
Am i the only one who doesnt play Rimworld anymore?
I just wanted to bring some positivity to this thread.
Quote from: skullywag on November 17, 2016, 04:17:14 AMI was not being sarcastic. I seriously meant that 1000101 is busy working on what is arguably the biggest project in RW modding. He is unable to spend time helping ppl try to get started, because, like many other long-time RW modders, he is busy contributing to the community in another way. And, by 'you salty veterans' I didn't mean 'you' specifically, skully. I've read tons of your posts and u seem 'sweet' rather than 'salty'
Ok this is bordering on personal attack, keep it civil.
It was maybe a more offensive choice of word than I anticipated. I should have said 'grizzled' or 'battle-hardened'. Quote from: 1000101 on November 17, 2016, 07:06:14 AMYou've actually helped me on the RW Discord! I don't think you meant to sound so condescending with that 1st reply to nommy. My guess is emotions flavored it...salty. I love that word now.
As skullywag and myself have said, we'll help and answer questions and we do. I am active in the Help subforum and in the modders Discord (formerly Slack) answering questions as I can.
Quote from: 1000101 on November 17, 2016, 07:06:14 AMBack onto the meat of the issue, I like the idea of a simple checklist for things that could be problems modders should watch out for. The problem, as stated by Tammabanana, is that the game is in alpha so these things can change without notice.I bet if anything on the checklist changes, it will be rectified before the list can cause more harm than good. Or at least a warning could be applied when a new alpha comes out: "Some of this info may be out of date due to recent changes" or whatever. Plus, I hear nobody reads stickied posts anyway

TL;DR
Quote from: skullywag on November 16, 2016, 10:16:07 AMYes. This assumes anyone is willing/able. 1000101 isn't. He's working (as if being paid) on CCL, so obviously doesn't have time & energy to devote to helping amateurs get started. Some people do, though, as hard as that may be to imagine for you salty veterans of modding.
So a question for you modders out there, would you want someone to check over your mods before submission?
Quote from: Nommy on November 16, 2016, 06:55:28 PMA stickied list of common issues that modders are told to check before their 1st release keeps the modders themselves responsible and I think it would help. As for error reporting, users of mods already do a pretty good job of this. And there are a lot of people on these forums who love telling others when they have made a mistake.
As far as finding problematic mods goes, if there was something like a stickied checklist of things a mod needs to do to be as reliable and compatible as possible then anyone could take a look at someone's mod and say in their thread if it complies or why not.
Quote from: Tammabanana on November 16, 2016, 07:36:29 PMProbably, but there's no risk of this becoming a reality. Too big a change, considering how many people would be against it.
Mod-police would be a huge deterrent to newbie modders joining the community.
Quote from: theubie on November 16, 2016, 03:38:12 PMGreat work! Next I want to recolor my muffalos
Recolor Stockpile updated to v 1.0.3 - Added functionality to growing zones as well. Steam update coming soon-ish™
Quote from: kaptain_kavern on November 12, 2016, 08:33:14 PMOne of my best friends in high school was a Russian named Ruslan. It's not an uncommon Russian name, so you were probably right Kaptain K.
You just made Russian teachers looking badass.
Congrarz on the release and thx for the mod.
Edit : I just saw I mis read" ruslan"
Quote from: dismar on November 12, 2016, 10:15:58 PMThat's good, because I have tried and failed to figure out how to change the color of existing apparel.Quote from: Killaim on November 12, 2016, 10:53:39 AM
now for pawns clothes too
theres a mod that does that.
Quote from: jeeohlee on November 12, 2016, 05:52:32 AMYes: you can suggest. No: I can't make a UI. I think you mean something like the GUI in Recolor Stockpile mod by theubie. I love that interface, but I don't know how to make them myself. It's too advanced for an amateur like me. Sorry, but thank you for asking.
can i has a suggestion?? can u makes a new ui in which you can customize the colors?? like as if its in a powerpoint or something??
Quote from: 123nick on November 12, 2016, 12:32:15 AMThey keep the stats they started with. All that changes is the color of the blocks or logs and the color of whatever you make with them. For example, things get a higher beauty rating if they are made out of marble and more HP if made with granite. I didn't change that. Color is only a visual difference, just like with people
does stained bricks have the same stats , for all of them, or different? like, pink marble bricks, or brown granite bricks, etc, with the stats the same of the base material, marble and granite respectively, just different appearance.
