Well since this (I guess) was already an ongoing idea of Tynan, I will not continue to develope this mod. As already written above, the code is an absolute clusterfuck because this was my first proper c# project and I started with no experience at all. (His version also looks wayyyy better, lets be honest here)
Why you don't do documentation and make a expedition mod different than tynan idea?

Thanks. Beautiful mods!

Zhentar, you're software developer right..
Try understand this poor brazilian-english suggestion.
You can add statistics
to look better the pathfinding? Example: I will go to the kitchen. Obviously I don't need see the map again to go to the kitchen in the second time.
Except if you modify any tiles around the kitchen..
This will make the game runs smoother with much more fps. Example: 50 colonists makes alot of CPU usage trying to look for a path..
if you have saved in statistics, they will just move to the saved route location instead of finding the location from zero.
Its like route system...
The performance logic:
http://prntscr.com/d91yk9 Look the pic.
You / vanilla logic.
http://prntscr.com/d91zmd
its like you did  in the montain, but with a improved statistics for more routes...
See the difference.
I'm not software developer, I just know some logic of C++.
In this logic, the only trouble is when you modify a tile that have much paths saved in statistics. This will cause a bit lag like the vanilla but only for 5 seconds to reorganize and rebuild the path statistics.

Mods / Re: What would make the game easier to mod?

Obviously a mod manager, mod conflict checker and possibility to less conflicts by merging mods. Like mod a creates water. mod b modify water to black colour. mod c modify water to 64 stackable.

Merging> mod total = water black, stackable 64.

Instead of replacing filex mod for filex mod ( that causes conflict ). What about merging option?

.OGG no bug here.. .OGG is standart for all games... its better compression and its load faster..
Look... Mp3 codecs are heavier and not compatible with linux systems that don't have mp3 codecs.
.OGG is standart and Its used inside the core library. Test yourself. I added alot of musics and there's no problem anymore with mapgeneration bug. Yea .OGG
Oh.. and there's no  lag anymore.
Also.. musics with more than 8MB is working with .ogg.. Test yourself Perppen

Why you don't use .ogg songs? convert them to ogg and it will use less memory blocks. I think the setted blocks are for.. Look at resources folder, all musics are storage inside the .unity assets. That's only possible with .ogg as i think.
I fixed!! Convert the .mp3 to .ogg
It fixes the lagg and the map generation BUG!! FINNALYY OH may GooD
Download my version of your mod:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B9osDl0Ll7nuekRxVW8ycGtiRW8/view?usp=sharing

.Ogg are core compatible with the rimworld, so no bugs anymore. And it will run in any platform windows/linux rim world versions with no lag.

ps: My PC have 4.5GB available... Its a crash of storage memory blocks. eg:
1 vector int[2] support 8Bytes and you trying to storage 16Bytes, Data loss, Crash.
I will try to fix converting to .ogg and making it smaller. I think there is a limit per music that the rimworld can hold until crash.

Yeah, go ahead!

Can you rename the fix or change the order? I have a big mod list loading with Mod Organizer. It's working. but when i put your mod it gives crash while generating map. Works if i load a saved game.
Its some conflict with an mod... i will send my output log.
ps: I have 102 mods loaded :)
