Maybe dropping body parts could be a mod in its own? Like deers and antelope dropping antlers/horns and such, just to add new means of making money in the game and make hunting more profitable in general.

Ya, only a few big cats actually sounds more natural. If I recall correctly, predators like tigers tend to have territories spanning miles. Hopefully when more smaller predators are added, that might help trim the herds a bit, such as hunting the excess cassowaries, emus, alpacas, etc...

Two questions that occurred to me. The first is whether or not its possible to code for animals to spawn in specific biome formations, like mountainous or coastal. Second, I can't recall exactly but do rhinos not drop their horns when killed in RimWorld? If not, could that be a feature that might be possible added in?

Ok, good to hear. Since I noticed that you'd designed some new insectoids, I considered suggesting some concepts for new ones, to see if you liked any. The first one I have a bit of  description for, while the second is still conceptional. Couldn't think of a name for it which fit the naming convention for insectoids.

Megamantid for Tropical and Temperate Biomes
A large, genetically-engineered species of insectoid derived from the mantises of old Earth. Armed with two razor-sharp forelimbs, they were designed to strike quick and hard against mechanoids before they eventually went rogue. Now they run wild on countless worlds throughout the Rim, hunting man and beast alike.

Honeypot Ant-derived Insectoid
Specialized insectoid which consumes raw plant and animal matter and converts it into insect jelly for the rest of the hive to feed upon. HEAVILY GUARDED by other insectoids. Stays close to the hive and doesn't engage in combat unless provoked.

So what will your Hounds of Tindalos look like? I know a lot of people depict them as dog-like, misconstruing what the hound part of the name means (it refers to hounding, not the animal). Also, will you consider adding relics based on parts of the Mythos, or perhaps even weapons from the various Cthulhu games, like Dark Corners of the Earth?

Thanks. It has 3 ways in (cause two have shallows, which can't be built upon), but are defended by shields, traps, pitfalls, barricades, and ballistas. I want to build a castle, but have nowhere near enough bricks. Also want to improve the houses a bit, though the beds are now all normal and above, so that helps a bit. Just managed to finally get over a massive sleeping sickness epidemic, and actually managed to recruit that prisoner who Blue fell in love with.

I look forward to your new base Hydro... will you try a new biome, like jungle, desert, or even the far north?

While I might bring this up on the Vanilla Friendly Animals thread, but have insectoids been considered as a way to introduce well known rainforest (and eventually other biome) insects and such? Like either hives that spawn in Rainforests will spawn these (in addition or in replacement of vanilla insectoids?) or they will spawn randomly (and rarely) as regular animals, but their description describes them as rogue insectoids.

- Dragonflies (Meganeura could be referred)
- Titan Beetles
- Atlas Beetles
- Hercules Beetles
- Giant Stick Insects (could mimic trees, perhaps?)
- Atlas Moths
- Bullet and/or Army Ants (as soldiers)
- Leafcutter Ants (as harvesters, producing insect jelly for other insectoids by consuming plants)
- Goliath Birdeaters (technically not an insect)

Just a question, but are you still open to suggestions, or are you focusing on the Megaspider retexture for now?

When you go to restaurant do you get MENU and pick or you just eat trashes in back of kitchen, because you can't wait for something you should eat?

Besides you're analogy being terrible, why does your restaurant have no food, have human corpses lying around, take forever to prepare food as if you hadn't begun farming or hunting, you're chefs had been butchering the previously mentioned human corpses and leaving the mean around... and yet you question why customers would resort to eating "garbage".

The game isn't very good at that either with automatic prioritizing of tasks. You would expect if people go hungry that they slaughter more animals, cook and grow more food and if the rooms are getting too dirty that they would clean more, as can be expected from a story generator. But sadly you have to manage the shit out of everything to make colonists not behave like kim kardashian ;).

Wait, you expect the game to make NEW farms and hunt animals without prior selection? Do you even realize how stupid that is? If they built new farms whenever they were running low on food, where exactly are they going to place them - outside the walls of your city, in-between buildings, next to that cave filled with insectoids, etc...? And as for hunting, you do realize just how many animals will attack back? What if the colonist decided to hunt a bear or an elephant, just because they were low on food and that animal was nearby?

Wait, were we supposed to give a detailed rebuttal? I thought that he just wanted us to tell him he was wrong if we'd played for 2-3+ weeks. OK, here's my two cents then:

The fact that you appear to be just leaving human corpses laying around would by your fault. You should either haul them to an out of sight stockpile, bury them in a grave, or burn them. The only reason you're colonists would even attempt to eat them is if you're not very good at prioritizing gathering and cooking food. Starvation will force them to do this.

Also why are you butchering human corpses? That's essentially the only way to acquire human meat in an unmodded game.

You're wrong... wow, that was easy.

It's explained in the rules. Besides, I'm in a rainforest.

Time goes by, and all seems well. We build our village up, research the world about us, survive various harrowing events, and defend ourselves against those that would see us harm.

Eventually, a trader passes through, and brings with him a story of a far away military base, untouched for many years. Intrigued, Blue offers to explore it, and leaves for several days. The fates smile upon us, for during that time no invaders do come nor do disasters plague us.

He returns, bringing with him mechanical components in great amount. Though we have no need for such things, we realize the potential for them, and thus we safeguard them till the day they may prove of use. Resuming his work soon after, he soon finds himself a strange artifact. Activating it, the device crumbles in his grasp... but not after sending out a signal. Then we saw them coming over the hill.

Raiders were inbound.

A brutal conflict occurs, but we manage to survive, while they were forced to flee... leaving two wounded behind. Seeing this, we capture them, and attempt to recruit. Eventually, one decides to join us.

Klavdiya is a welcome addition to our tribe. With her onboard, it was finally time to enter into the foreboding structure that lay just beside our village. Nim chose to be the first to penetrate the wall... and quickly came to regret her decision! MECHANOIDS!

They down her quickly, then proceed to charge upon our base. Our defenses our quickly overwhelmed, but we manage to destroy them all. We quickly proceed to rescue Nim, and then to open the ancient tombs these mechanical monsters were guarding.

As soon as Kado touches one, they all burst open at once, revealing their occupants. These people, wounded they were, we rescued, though we returned one back to her pod to sleep. The others we keep guard on, and attempt to recruit. But during all this... more horrors arrive...

As if sensing weakness, they arrive. However, this time they do not find some poorly defended village, but a tribe with traps and walls and guns!

Victory was all but assured. And in more than one way...

Walls joins us, but her body is wracked with pain. A sickness, one born of a transplanted synth organ, weakens her, and an addiction to go-juice does so even further. The path to recovery will be long and treacherous, but we will overcome. Nothing but-

They've returned! And in greater numbers!

Our tribesman rush to their defenses, raising guns and arrows against the monstrous swarm. The battle is long, many traps go off, but eventually we prevail... all is good again, but for how long?

So anyone up for trading? I've got the previously mentioned fruits/vegetables, as well as oranges and healroot now. Also acquired a self-tamed elephant (which I'm keeping) and an emu,  capybaras and chinchillas for sale.

Also, something interesting... happened. Turns out Blue has become lovers... with the prisoner Selma. What should I do? Would it be against the rules to use console to force recruit her, as she's been in there for a few seasons chatting with him (she has a 96% resist recruit rate).

Dave, don't take this the wrong way, but it doesn't seem like you've followed the rules for this. It would appear that you started with a crash landing start instead of tribal (which would make you industrial), that you gave yourself gear like weapons and chicken eggs instead of starting with nothing save the clothes on your back, and that you're growing plants without either finding them in the wild first or buying them from traders.
