Well if you need some ideas for more plants... (I admit that I googled some)

Fruiting plants for more food:
- Junglesop
- Starfruit (Carambola)
- Plantain
- Avocados
- Lemons
- Yams
- Grapefruit
- Passion Fruit
- Mangos
- Bacuri
- Caju (gives us cashews)
- Guarana (a stimulant/metabolism booster. Could work a bit like coffee when eaten?)
- Pitanga
- Capuaca
- Graviola
- Allspice
- Mung Bean
- Jakfruit
- Cherimoya
- Mangosteen
- Miracle Fruit
- Durian (potent smell, perhaps causing slight unhappiness and/or warding off wild animals?)
- Jabuticaba
- Physalis
- Rambutan
- Ackee
- Screw Pine

Oh, and in regards to the guinea pigs I suggested, apparently wild cavy (or cuy as they're known in South America) might be a better choice in name as that was what the Inca domesticated them from for use as food and pets.

Oh sweet. I assume that the Okapi will probably have very low taming chance (high wildness), while the Junglefowl will have really high taming chance (in reference to chickens being domesticated from them). Will the baby tapirs have unique striped coating like in real life?

By the way, in regards to the weapons I suggested, perhaps for the jungle tribals/wilders, perhaps some Jaguar/Eagle helmets, in reference to the Jaguar and Eagle warriors of the Aztecs.

I really Like A, but I've also kinda gotten used to C... would it be possible to make C a separate unit, like some sort of royal guard that only spawns when the hives themselves are attacked, similar to how mechanoids spawn from damaged crashed ships?

thanks for the suggestions :)

I will definitely consider them when adding new animals in the future

Ah, glad you liked them. I'll try to look up some more species for the jungle and see if any of them inspire you. Here's some that I've found so far, I hope some of them prove useful/interesting:

Gigantopithecus - A giant, extinct ape that was possibly bipedal, though most current evidence points it to being more like a gorilla. Brought back like the Megatherium.
Titanboa - A giant, extinct species of snake. Could serve as a giant predator with a  hunger bar that decreases very slowly, though when low it would be fully capable one-shotting large cats and such, leaving no corpses (given that cobras in game somehow do).
Carbonemys - A giant, extinct species of terrestrial turtles. Its shell alone was roughly the size of a grown man, and it shared its habitat with the Titanboa.

Jungle Muffalo (Jungalo?) - Jungle-dwelling equivalent of the Muffalo. Smaller and leaner than it's plain-dwelling cousin, it could have molted brown fur dotted with green - moss and algae - akin to sloths.
Megamantid - Insectoid derived from genetically modified mantises. Could be a stealthy ambush predator compared to the Megaspider, or perhaps deal higher damage at the cost of its own sturdiness.

- - -

For the jungle tribals, perhaps some new weapons based on those used by Mayans/Inca/Aztecs/etc... -

- The Macuahuitl is the first that comes to mind, and could have a high slash damage but extremely low blunt, and thus wouldn't be very effective against armored opponents.
- Hornet Bombs, something I believed that the Mayans utilized, could work in place of grenades for jungle tribes. When they explode, they could cause an effect similar to fire, and cause enemies hit to panic, but do no damage to structures.
- Blowgun, as a weaker but cheaper equivalent to bows, perhaps with a higher accuracy to compensate. I would suggest poison, but I've heard of another mod that tried that and there was a problem with the poison being incurable, eventually killing whoever was hit.
- Atlatl, otherwise called a spear-thrower, for long range lobbing of spears.
- Cuauhololli, a specialized club for bashing. Slightly curved with a spherical head. Could serve as an improvement over the basic club, perhaps?

So would the megatermites (Megamites? Termitons?) be considered a type of Insectoid, or would they be considered an unrelated genetically-altered species? I also did a quick google search, and apparently porcupines will eat bark/trees. Since their are species of rainforest porcupine, perhaps a giant genetically-altered species that eats entire trees?

If you're looking for ideas for new prey animals to include, might I suggest perhaps Paca - which could be made from the capybara model - and Guinea Pigs? Marsh Deer, Sumatran Striped Rabbits, Greater Rhea and Peccary could be other possible prey animals, and likely wouldn't require much work outside of a color retexture for existing RimWorld species. I might also suggest Hippos (pygmy?), but I feel that those would more likely kill whatever was hunting them instead.

The day begins well, as an outsider, similarly adrift in the world just as we are, approaches us. She has traveled many days, and despite her initial hesitance stemming from an innate shyness, eventually opens up and offers to join us. We gladly accept her, and soon Worm becomes a welcome member of the community. With her help, we begin taming the wild beasts of this land, and acquire several chinchillas, capybaras, and even a panda!

All is going well, until...

On membranous, bat-like wings it descends from the heavens, landing just beyond some distant hills. Alarms are raised, and our people take position, raising bows and clubs, prepared to defend our newfound home to the last. As it approaches, we realize that this is no mere sky beast, but some many of monster not unlike those that destroyed our old home. With fury in our hearts, we fight it, piercing its grisly hide with many arrows until, with a screech, it finally succumbs. A few of us are wounded, and some complain of a painful burning in their heads, but soon all is well again, and we burn the beast.

The days following are filled with good omens. Though a human raider attempted to invade, no doubt thinking us weak, we quickly overwhelm him. Imprisoning him, we decide to spare him, so that he may tell his kin to avoid us lest he incur our wrath. At this time we also gain word of other nearby groups. One comes to us with open arms of friendship, while the other glares at us threateningly.

We begin building defenses around our village, piling logs upon logs to slow down those that might seek to do us harm. Clubs and bows, wooden plating too, are crafted in large numbers, and many are blessed by the gods with enchantments! Truly we shall survive these foes! If only to further prove this point, our researcher Blue has unlocked are true mental potential, and we are no longer mere tribals, but are now Medieval.

More threats soon come, including the devils of the water, the foul children of the deep themselves! Fishy-eyed and scaly bodies, dripping in slime and gurgling unintelligently, one comes crawling onto land, heading directly for our village. We quickly slay it before it can harm anyone, but it is a troubling sign. The beasts have found us... yet we have managed to slay one this time. Perhaps they can be beaten back into the sea!

More days pass, and we build up our defenses further, creating barricades and ballistas to guard our checkpoints, and lay traps to ward off attackers. During this time, another of the sky demons came, landing in the middle of our village in a strange metal pod. Distracted by a chinchilla, we catch it by surprise and surround it, finishing it off quickly. Soon another object fall from the sky, however, this time landing further out and igniting in a burst of flame. It was much larger than the sky demon's pod, and as we approach, we see the dead littering the forest floor... and one living. He fires at us, shouting in a foreign tongue, and we are forced to kill him. We scavenge we can then, finding what traders were calling "guns" and armor. We are stronger now, and just in time too.

A new horror arrives, hailing from the far north...

Slithering, sliding along the jungle floor, all life before it flees. It bothered not with bird and beast, though, and instead heading directly for our village. It was slow, though, slow enough that we took positions and manned our ballistas. Firing into its bubbling flesh, great bolts pierced it and bullets tore holes into the ever forming eyes and tendrils, yet continue onwards it did, seemingly unfazed. It overran our position, flowing over our defenses, and we were forced to pull back. All seemed lost until Nim, no doubt guided by the gods themselves, must have struck something vital in the thing, for it keeled over as soon as her shot hit it. Dead though it seemed, its flesh still shimmered, and so with blades and axes we chopped it to bits and then fed them to the fire till none remained. We had survived again, and without loss. Truly we would prevail, there could be no doubt.

Honestly, I just really - REALLY - like diversity. The more animals, plants, and pawns, the better, especially if they're unique to different environments. I just suggested Okapi because of their fairly distinct appearance, though you're right about the lack of legs, which would make it difficult to convey that.

By the way, would you mind if we posted some animal designs of our own, in case you want to use them in your mod?

The five survivors, and their traits, backgrounds, and skills.

With nothing save the clothes on our backs, we were forced to take shelter within the ruins of a small building for the night. Here we would stockpile food, and rest, till we could rebuild our tents. Hopefully we would not be attacked till then.

We found the following plants: Bananas, Coffee , Lemongrass, Taro, Smokeleaf, Mushrooms, Peaches, Coconuts, Pineapples, Rice, Aloe, Bamboo
We soon began planting, for though we could gather much from the wild, a stable food source would be necessary for our survival.

As one day became two, and the groundworks for a small camp were being built along the coast, a most wondrous thing happened. Fox, while crafting bows for our hunting and defense, must have invoked the great spirits, for one came to invoke their power!

A sign of good tidings, perhaps? Only time would tell.

Nation: Velkana
Player: res34
Location: 25.60E, 2.13N
Biome/Terrain: Tropical Rainforest / Flat/ Coastal

For many moons, our people knew peace, and lived within the fertile valleys of the great plains. This did not last, for in the night they came from the sea, those children of the deep waters. Monstrous in form and nature, they showed no mercy, taking who and what they would. The blood of those that resisted stained the soil, and fire took the rest.

Not all died though. Five of us managed to escape under the cover of darkness, having been warned by the screams. Fleeing for our lives, we traveled many days till we could no longer. We will make our home here now, and defend ourselves. We will not fall to those who seek us harm, nor shall we succumb to fear. We are the people of Velkana, and we shall remain.

Have you considered making two separate elephant species, as in having asian elephants for the jungles, and, in the distant future, african elephants for the arid grasslands? Also, have you considered incorporating okapi at all?

Just a quick question, but does this mod affect weather in any way? I'm trying to figure out whether this or another mod I have (Enhanced Forests A15) is doing so, not because of any problems, but because I actually really enjoy that there are tropical rainstorms and such, which really gives the rainforest its name.

I'm sorry to ask, but where exactly is the download for this? I don't seem to see one in the first post.

Just tried placing it before and after... there were a lot of pink boxes of with X's inside them both times.
