Do you think it would be possible to make an option to allow everything all the time (for when you have a drop pod/daze) it would be dangerous to play with that (infestation  :P) but I think it would be a massive QoL improvment

Not on CCL either but :

1/ Tynan said no A16 before Xmas likely : https://www.reddit.com/r/RimWorld/comments/5ax9a9/some_notes_on_recent_controversies/d9kpvgq/

2/ CCL is 99% done (my guestimation)

So i really think it will not happen. But even if then all the already made works will not be lost so I don't see it as a bigger problem than what is actually happening in fact ?

aww man I missed that one I'm sad now  :'(

Serious question tho, what if A16 come before your release ? from the teasers it sounds like just around the corner, on reddit Tynan said surely not this month but a December release wouldn't not be too surprising.

It's compressed meat you don't have to manually tag, send a pawn outside the base, risk them getting predated or stampeded by a pissed herd to get. On huge maps, after the first winter, all the animals are on the edge of the map, which means an enormous walk if you like to start building near the center. On huge mountain maps it can take a pawn practically all day to hunt one animal, depending on obstructions.

Also, animal wool is better than anything else for insulation, and is a fairly valuable material on it's own. Again, zero risk involved.

Of course they're totally optional, you don't have to raise them at all, you can totally ignore that aspect of the game. But for me the advantages far outweigh the burdens. The greatest burden is probably CPU cycles.

I heard that milking/shearing animals have a chance to make them bond. I never had the case but you need to consider it.

Animals are useless in every case, if you think you need hauler animals because you don't have enough hauling pawn you should have done better recruitment in the first place. on top of eating non stop, the time spent to train animals will be better used for hauling. I even kill the first animal you get in crashlanded at the first occasion possible (party or mariage...)

agreed.

almost all animals are useless, they are not worth the time or space.
You guys are just not using animals to their potential. Hauling animals are optional, if you have excellent workflow and some haulers. But there are massive benefits to livestock. Turn hay into eggs, meat, milk, wool, leather... just tons of valuable stuff from something completely worthless.

Livestock is useful on extreme map but what's the point on normal maps ? Eggs = Milk = Meat, and you just have to get 2 meter out of your base to kill an animal

A16 -
Fancier world map (globe, abstract settlements, world travel)
Fancier faction relations (counter raids, caravans)
Fancier economy (supply and demand, location-dependent resource availability)

which is still a pretty cool bit of stuff, even if it isn't earth shattering or exactly what anyone wanted.
Of course, I could be completely wrong on all of it.

To you A16 is just a bunch of IU revamp and economy balance ?

From the teasers I can't see any clue of new content, I doubt there will be any as we  got content in A15

I cant' speak for old Mumbles there but personally I just don't like or enjoy playing multiplayer and feel that time spent developing and supporting it with such a small team could be better spent on literally anything from more bug fixes, better UI, more research and production, better pawn "personality" or the addition of Tran-Animals "races" from the long sleep briefing.

Well it's too late to worry about that now  :P either Tynan implemented multiplayer and giving up on it now would be a waste or he didn't and well literally anything else could roll out (but probably not z levels)

Ideas / End Granite supremacy.

Each time I roll a new game I make sure there is granite on my map, the reason why I do it is because without granite you can't build an electric crematorium, its always a gamble to start a map without granite... the crematorium is very important to dispose of bodies and useless cloth. My suggestion would be to be able to build the crematorium out of "blocks" instead of just granite.

I honestly hope its not multiplayer, this would be really sad, imo if thats what it is, rather than a traveling feature...

I don't understand why would you be "sad" to have a multiplayer option

On a dev point of view multiplayer would be a lot easier implement than z-levels, it doesn't need to be like 2 players plays on a map at the same time. One mod even implement multiplayer https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=732930564

As the person who started the thread, I feel a little hypocritical saying this, but it needs to be said...

Let's not over-hype this, guys.
Tynan hasn't revealed any real information regarding Alpha 16's new world systems, and we can't just go around assuming all these great things.
People are starting to bring up No Man's Sky, jokingly, but every joke has some truth behind it.

It's okay to be excited. It's okay to be hyped.
However, a lot of you are going to be incredibly disappointed in A16 (and Tynan) if you keep assuming it's going to have everything you've ever wanted in RimWorld.
And, in my opinion, that's not okay...

Sorry but what was wrong in No Man's Sky hype was that devs flat out lied (even weeks before release) about what would be in the game. Tynan never did that.

I think it's totally ok to hype ourself for A16, and I hope there will be some kind of multiplayer then. We just need to be mature about it, I already love the game so I don't see the problem.
