You'll find that most mods made for 1.1 work with 1.2, no sweat.  But yes, of course there's gonna be a few... ::)

He's the kind of guy whom tries to return a half-eaten Chicken McNugget with a bite out of it to Taco Bell, insisting on a refund for the 20-piece he'd eaten most of :P .  It's just, "No, idiot," on so many levels.

Nah; only offer notifications for active jobs (not just in the bill queue).

Thanks for coming back and giving us the breakdown of the actual problem, and how you solved it :).

Some thoughts, in no particular order:

  • Ignore Bigdestyn, he's a notorious jackass.  Nearly everyone else here will be glad to help, if they can, as long as you're NOT a jackass ;) .  Don't let forum trolls bother you.
  • As Canute mentions, formatting your posts a bit better is very helpful.  You'll find more people tend to respond, and with better responses to boot.
  • Remember that traders don't show up immediately; it takes a bit of time.
  • As mentioned above, I'd verify your game files in Steam (I'm assuming that's how you bought the game; please tell me if you used another method).  Simply right-click the game in your Steam Library and select "Properties".  Click "Local Files" on the left; you'll see the option to verify your install on the right pane.
  • Check that error log in Devmode.  Red text *is not* necessarily game-breaking but that info is important.
  • This is a classic example of why adding lots of mods at once, especially to a game that has unfamiliar mechanics, can be..."difficult", let's say.  Frankly, unless you're attempting to reproduce a "mod pack" that has already been vetted by some party to play nice amongst its components, this is nearly always a bad idea; you WILL have issues, whether now or later.

Generally, it's best to add no more than 3-5 mods per given colony run.
My first direct questions are, how long did you wait after requesting the trader, and how many mods do you currently have active?

General Discussion / Re: Computer Help!

RimWorld is MUCH more bound by CPU and RAM than GPU; as long as your graphics pass muster, whether integrated or discrete, you'll see pretty much the exact same game as if you had an nVidia 3090 RTX.  Your CPU and RAM (both amount and speed) are way more important to the performance of the game.

Generally, however, even if the game run slower on your device, RimWorld will remain quite playable.  Be forewarned, however, that a marginal computer strongly suggests that you run fewer mods, which tend to eat up a lot of CPU cycles.  Any mod that does anything more than add extra items will slow down the game at least a tiny bit; this adds up.

*shrug* Sure, he's probably snorting coke off of hooker fannies, as we speak.  And..?

It's quite obvious most of the folks here don't share your opinion, so what, exactly, do you think you're on about?

Just a note, but only as one example, a properly-made and -fired greatbow, with good arrows/arrowheads, CAN pierce hard armor with difficulty.  Yes, really, even moreso for heavy crossbows 8).  In fact, they penetrate most modern infantry soft protection (Kevlar, et al.) far better than rifle bullets!

https://www.military.com/video/armor/body-armor/modern-crossbow-vs-modern-body-armor/4845667319001

They don't have anywhere near the same rate of fire or range, mind you, and bows take far more training to use than guns, but they are fantastically effective weapons, even to this day, against most conceivable "manpack" armor.  Unless you have literal "full plate", there's always going to be bits that aren't protected as well, if at all.

Seems perfectly legit to me, frankly.

This...isn't new; Bigdestyn has been on this path for a while, now.  Ramsis is just a saint, is all o.o'.

At the poles, perhaps?

Pawns are the single biggest contributor to raid wealth calculations, IIRC.

RimWorld already gets enough flack, as a "war crimes sim", that going full-on Mengele is probably not the best plan.
