I'm afraid I'm gonna say it: Doctor Who. It's 50th anniversary is coming up and I can't believe to most people outside of the UK it's an obscure show! It should be a household name worldwide by now. Oh, woe is me.

Well, I was born in Portugal but have lived in Scotland since I was a babby (my mother is Scottish). So not long ago I decided to learn Portuguese, technically my home language. I know a little bit, enough to have a small conversation. : P

That was what was so nice about it; a perfect balance of humor and seriousness. Not many shows can pull that off. And I did like how sometimes an episode would give a break by being funny almost all the way through (like Jaynestown).

Perhaps this could be a different story teller all together? 'Surprising Sarah'?

Perhaps even the 'passing by' NPCs, if they're close enough to your colony, will come into the common room and might join your colony if they stay long enough? Maybe they pay to get in? Or is that more of a hotel simulator? :3

A place where colonists can hang out from time to time. Increases happiness. Designated by a lack of beds, hydroponics or batteries. If enough chairs and tables are put in, colonists will come here to rapidly increase happiness. The bigger the room, the better.

What do you guys think? : P

A tower that takes a long time to build and costs a lot of metal, but it draws most lightning it it's radius of effect towards it. I'm not sure if it's cheap enough!

Also, sofas and coloured tables and chairs. :3

I amn't sure if this is coincidence or not, but one of my colonists is named Fess. RimWorld's fiction is inspired for a part by Firefly, and fans of the series will have noticed that Fess was the virgin son of the magistrate of the planet that Jaynestown takes place (Episode 7).

I wonder if it's an in-joke : P

I've never seen this done from a colonist's perspective. I like the back story. Very good!

Carpets seemed to help

Unfortunatly one of my miners got trapped in an undeground room he was mining out due to a glitch I guess, as their was a clear entrance and my other guys despite being drafted couldn't pass through it, went below the loyalty threshold and went a bit nuts. Fortunately I managed to arrest him :3

So I took the advice and everyone's a bit happier now. Thanks : D

Sorry if this isn't the right place for posting a newbie question, but I couldn't think of anywhere better than 'support'.

Basically all of my colonists are around 30% happiness. They keep complaining about eating nutrient paste and that their homes and dull. I put planters in their rooms etc, but why are they so depressed? Just waiting for one to go psychotic : P

I love these stories. Great stuff, could gather round a campfire and share our old war stories all night, eh? ; )
