Thanks again CutiesDeathCab for bringing it to our attention. Much appreciated.

That's perfectly fine, I just didn't want to see the games reputation get damaged by something we clearly see as fake, but someone who's never heard of the game before, looks at the screenshots that were there and was like, Ooh, It looks like fun! then realises it's a fake app, stole their information, they tell their friends, friends and friends.. etc..

Anyways, Good to see it's gone. and to think, All of this happened because I went to the bathroom with RimWorld on pause, and I searched "RimWorld" on the play store instead of the google search bar... Haha.

Hey guys, I'm going to be working on an A17 Update right now. It shouldn't take too long. I was working on getting research for it, and then also having a second iteration of the plant which grows it in a faster time locked behind a second long research item. However I messed up somewhere and could not find a fix, so I got frustrated and gave up for... Months. However i'll keep this simple for now, and just make it compatible for A17.

I was surprised too, I mean, people like us can see that its fake, but i'm kind of amazed at the amount of people that installed it and then left comments afterwards, The permission it takes gives them so much information, They can send and delete texts, read, write and edit your internal and external storage, they get your contacts, your accounts on the device, its ridiculous.

and Certainly SpaceDorf, It'd have a major impact on the report. I just saw it and at first I was like, Oh cool, then I saw "Ivon Petrikov developer" and im like.. what? Then I looked into it. I'm mainly surprised this wasn't reported here before me. I searched general terms like "Play store" the "Developers name" etc.

Anyways, Good luck with it!

No thanks necessary, that's alright. It just seriously bugged me to see Rimworld/Ludeon being used like that.

Hi, I'll keep this brief.

There is an app on the Google Play store claiming to be rimworld. It's obviously not, however this app steals users information when installed on the device. This app is slandering Rimworld (even though it's not actually) but I highly recommend Tynan or someone takes action on this. This is the APP I urge people to not install this app, and I also urge that everyone flags it for Copyright/Impersonation. To do this on the Play store, simply scroll down past the recommended apps and then click Flag as inappropriate.

It is a good idea, however if the mod is on both steam and the forums They can put it up here.
Any steam only mods will be removed as soon as I'm aware of them.

Special thanks to MarvinKosh for taking so much time and energy adding all his mods. :) he's been adding for atleast half an hour as at this message and it seems he's still going strong.

And yes. It would have been better, however mine seems to be quite effective in the short time it's been live. And I dont mind keeping it active as long as it continues being used.

Drm free because at some point or another eventually you'll be forced to have Steam enabled to play rimworld. (Happens almost always). I don't always use steam and all of my computers. I do use Windows 10. And as for the browser. I usually use opera without any plug-ins.  I'm constantly using a vpn. (Old habit) and I don't use Google.  I use either disconnect.me or DuckDuckGo.

Tl:Dr I play Rimworld off a USB stick, as I travel frequently. And I use computers which aren't always mine thus not allowing the installation of steam.

Yeah that is quite true. Another thing I literally just thought of would be like a "reverse" steam authentication. it might take a little bit to set up but it would be very similar to how they allow the drm free license to be used on steam as well.

Just have it so that you log in with steam. Then you can get a DRM-free download with the license that is used on your steam account. That'd automate the process.
I understand that it would take time, However when and or if Ludeon changes the Steam version so that it can only be played while steam is on, I'd Pretty much rely on having a DRM free version. I play the game portably, using a usb which has a batch to put the save files on the usb

If any developers wanted to look at how this could work Click here More specifically This one is a wiki link for dev's

Thanks

We have no way to verify if or who owns the game on Steam.

Worse, we have no good way to cut off Drm Free access if you refund the Steam copy.

Multiply these problems by hundreds of thousands of players and it becomes totally infeasible. That's why no game company does this.

That all seems fair, after the way that you said it,

However; I can verify ownership of RimWorld, I have a paypal and a steam receipt both showing RimWorld on them, and also the link to my steam profile shows I have the game. (I ended up deciding not to get a refund, and now my hours have gone over the limit to which they would even consider giving me one)

And one last thing, OMG Tynan spoke on my post. *dies*
