I will take a pyro over neurotic, very neurotic, pessimist, depressive, and maybe even too smart. Usually the fire starting spree is only bad early game. Late game I have enough pawns that someone is around to put it out.

Or they are my handler and start a fire in the woods, so who cares?

I have a distinct lack of drama in my colony. Hardly any paring, but lots of social fighting, especially over "disfigured ".

Since this is a Rimworld, not Earth, aren't humans the aliens?

There are a few mods I can think of off hand, like the star wars and Warhammer 40k that might be along what you are thinking. There are also expansion mods to mechs, which are kinda aliens.

In cold environments I use the ground\sunlamp method. Typically built on at least some rich tiles I only use the open ground during the warm months to grow surplus. I can sustain year round with covered crops, even if I have to feed the animals simple meals when they pass out from starvation. Also a good way to control population with miscarriage. Don't feed them raw veggies, it is nutrition inefficient. I keep two batteries per lamp for eclipse. Growing indoors is a little slower than outdoors because of the light level, so the Eclipse event is that much more annoying.

I am going to have to try the dual zone method.

Volcanic winter isn't so bad, it's only 15 *f or so colder. The biggest hit is to solar panels if you are growing indoors.

Oh yeah. Lots of people noticed. There is an old thread around about it that was started because drs need their beauty sleep more than patients need care. You can really see it with high work construction jobs. Pawns set to 1 will randomly wander off and do lower priority work.

One issue is that walking through the construction work will interupt them. Watching them do tile in high traffic areas is maddening.

The nonviolent pawns can be made useful in this situation by giving them shield belts and having them draw fire. Then withdraw to recharge. Also putting out fires and acting as field medics. I won't accept non violent incapable of medical.

You will need emp's. I prefer mortars but grenades are fine. Stunned mechs don't shoot you. Run in with any melee while stunned (shield belts) and back out when it wears off.

Hiding spots for ranged should be 3 tiles apart. This prevents splash of miniguns and charge rifles. Also means only one pawn gets hit with inferno.

Expendable animal army is great. I usually allow my animals to build great numbers with the expectation that many will die in this event.  For best results, psychopath as your trainer to prevent bonding. Later, lots of fur and husky steak dinners.

Safe to add to an active save, or do you recommend a new map?

Edit : how did I miss that sentence

Beware the manhunter pack of chickens. I had a large group guarding neurotrainers in an event. Luckily I brought panthers. Rimworld went Zelda on me.

I don't think you are meant to build your own space ship in tribal. You start with pemmican, so you start with the ability to travel. I think tribal was meant to escape with the friendly AI more easily than the other two starts. You don't even need to reach the end of the research tree to do that.

Cats do relatively little damage individually. And their body size is small. The only threat there is the volume. That can be managed with a little bit of tactics like funneling them to a doorway you are defending from.

Randy Random is exactly that. If you average out the good and bad events, randy will be easier. Cassandra on the other hand is guiding the events. It is just a matter of time before she builds to the crescendo.

Just lucky. For example, Randy just gave me a summer heat wave followed almost immediately by a volcanic winter a few hours into the heat wave.

So when you resettle you can't pick map size? The tribal playthrough seems a natural fit to travel to the friendly ai. I wanted to try it out, but I normally play with the larger medium map.

I havent been able to test, but I think the number represents some type of multiplyer. Numbers above 1 increase your chances. I run with two pawns in power armor, herbal, and a swarm of muffalos. I get a rating of about 0.9. The caravan gets a pirate attack rarely. Also in question is, does the number only apply to enemy attention or any negative event like manhunter.
