I like the indoor trade beacons, no more messing with 'no roof zones' anymore.

I always bring a high researcher. I like being able to get a bunch of techs really early

Ideas / Re: Can we PLEASE! get improved control over the growing and storage areas?

Is there no way to specify a stockpile is "no-touch" like you do other things so that colonists don't burn up parkas you have there? I guess that only helps if everything in that stockpile is a parka to start with though. Still learning the game so I don't remember right now if you can turn stockpiles off and on like you can production items or individual items without a stockpile.
Also you could create a stockpile of just parkas and then delete the stockpile boundary around the parkas and put the X on them so they don't get picked up, right?
Yeah even without removing the stockpile.

Will admit id like more control over storage specially when it comes to clothing (save x amout of parkas, armour certain weapons etc).
Then make a stockpile X cells big and set it for parkas only.
Ok, but lets say you want a stockpile of only Devilstrand Parkas, or just Devilstrand cloths in general, how would you do that?
You need devilstrand parka's for your colonist right? Those that raiders drop you can just equip right away and those you craft yourself you can keep separate by creating a stockpile with the same priority as the raiders stockpile but next to the crafting table. Only the parka's you craft will go to that stockpile (unless your other stockpile is full).

Ok, fair enough. Now I remember a problem I had all the time, tribes attack so many times I had tribalwear and parkas everywhere so I wanted to get rid of them but didn't want my own crafted parkas to get burned too. The crematorium makes no distinction for that.
Thats also quite possible either, use the distance to the crematorium to make sure your parkas dont burn. Place you're own parka's are further away from crematorium then the piles of raider parka's and turn it off when you burn through most parka's.
Still, a feature that you can assign a colonist to a task like building a specific large wall or growing in a specific zone until cancelled would be awesome.

Ideas / Re: Do you think Steel ore should be Iron ore instead?
February 11, 2015, 05:44:45 AM
I vote to have Iron Ore spawn on the map, have Iron drop from these Iron Ore and use that as a first level material. Maybe in the future we can have steel as a more advanced metal but its just weird to mine up steel right from the ground.
