does it work with already made savegames ?
Technically: sure.

Practically: You may as well use the function that this mod utilizes. The Dev Tool "Pass to World." However, if you add the trait to a pawn, it'll do it all the same.

Updated for 1.0, bug-testing may be needed (but probably not considering the in-game functions this mod relies on haven't been changed).

After several failed attempts to make a Harmony Patch to allow pawns to be spawned into the WorldPawn pool, I was inspired by this post to create a mod that cashes in on the Debug menu's "Destroy" command.
Utilizing similar functions, I have made a mod that will add Pawns to the WorldPawn pool after game start.

You can find it in the Releases section.

Hikitsune-Red's Prepare Carefully World Pawn Spawner Sub-MOD

Description:
This Sub-MOD is a simple attempt at allowing players to create pawns that can appear elsewhere in the game besides your starting colony. I went about creating it after reading a few requests over the past few months for EdB to allow the using of saved presets in the WorldPawns pool.

I'll be one-hundred-percent honest: it is not the most elegant solution. However, I did attempt to just patch the processes used by Prepare Carefully, only to find that there were several instances where removing pawns from the generation page before the game start messed up the game's starting functions. That being said, I also lack enough knowledge to create a full-blown preset loader that merely reads all the presets made into the game. So, instead...

How it works:
All you have to do is apply the included "Spawns In World" trait to whatever pawns you want to be placed in the WorldPawns pool and, shortly after game start, they will poof out of your colony, and into a random faction.

This does mean that Prepare Carefully is NOT required, as you can use the debug menu to "Give Trait..." to a pawn and the same thing will happen.

GitHub: Red-PrepCarePawns repo

How to install:
- Unzip the contents of the repo and place them in your RimWorld/Mods folder.
- Activate the mod in the mod menu in the game.
- Make pawns to your heart's content.

Mods / Re: Need help with mod list

You appear to have quite a few mods, and I don't have time to sift through them myself.

That being said, a previous post of mine can might help lower your chance of issues, or at least get you visualizing what may be causing the issue.

Mods / Re: Help With Mod Load Order
July 27, 2017, 07:46:48 AM
If you want a small and quick tip, try putting the mods in order of what they change.

While I haven't had too many mods that conflict with each other (user of 98 simultaneous mods, myself) I can say that there are a few things on your list that I would (at least) reconsider, like letting Psychology be so high in the load order, or Prepare Carefully not being last.

My load order in full...

Before I get ahead of myself, back to my first comment; Consider using ModList Backup, as this will allow a little more flexibility in maintaining load order, as well as backing-up your current LO so that it isn't ruined if you choose to add a new mod.
When ordering the mods, consider using a similar model to the order I go in (I even added "empty" mods as separators to look nice, they are the mods in the above list that start with "======")  :

  • Core ~ The "Core" mod, as well as Libraries and tools required by other mods
  • Base-System Overwrites ~ Mods that overwrite base game functionality in a small way, such as map generation, camera control, animal behavior, et cetera
  • Pawn Customization Additions ~ Mods that add hair, clothing, or only a couple traits, as these create small changes
  • Additional Content ~ Mods that add considerable assets such as new rocks, furniture, or weaponry
  • Additional Systems ~ Mods that add considerable new code such as EPOE, A Dog Said..., or Hospitality
  • Things That Must Go Last... ~ Mods that either claim to need to go last, or only logical require such, things such as Psychology, some of Rainbeau's mods, Prepare Carefully, and patches

The unfortunate truth is that there is often not a "one-size fits all" solution, as everyone is going to a have a varying LO that works for their setup. That being said, keeping your LO more organized than your room is a great place to start.

I hope that this helps you mitigate your issues in some way. Good luck troubleshooting and bug-squashing!
